"We do a lot of lake fishing in these parts so I bought the 10' Clearwater to give me an advantage in the wind and it performs beautifully! Picking the line up off the water is effortless and the rod loads so easily! I love the action on this rod; not too fast so you really feel in touch with the line. I feel like I'm casting more accurately and getting greater distance, even in strong wind.
This rod feels like it should cost a whole lot more than it actually does and I would recommend it to anyone. Oh and the service from Orvis was great! It only took a week and a half from ordering to get the rod all the way to Southern Australia!"

"I have always been an Orvis fan and decided to buy my wife this rod for Christmas. The rod arrived and I had to check it out. The rod cst very well (it felt like one of my expensive rods), the quality and finish were exceptional and it balanced very well with my reel. This rod will end up being her favorite rod for chironomid fishing with indicators and long leaders. It cast effortlessly for me and I know it will help her take her casting up another notch! Now maybe a matching Orvis large arbor?!"

"Although the rod took nearly 2 months to reach me I am more than impress with the with the performance and action of the rod 10ft #5 Clearwater after talking to orvis I matched this with the hydros 3D wf 5 they are a perfect match and compliment each other 100% would recommend them to all ."

"I ordered this rod in January and had to wait four months to receive it. Boy was it worth the wait! I wanted it primarily for high stick nymphing in the deep runs of Brodhead Creek, but found it to be the best all around trout rod that I own. I now use it on both small and large streams, fishing all types of flies. Because of the 10 foot length, mending, line pick up, and hook setting is a breeze. It has great action for both short and long casts. even with a heavy rig attached. Matched with a Clearwater large arbor reel and Orvis Hydros line, this outfit is a flyfisher's dream. Thanks again Orvis for making this addiction called flyfishing such a pleasure!"

"After fewer than 20 casts and without any misuse on my part, the rod tip broke AFTER landing a fish. The craftsmanship is suspect. I enjoyed the rod as long as it lasted, but I would heartily recommend not buying this rod. Moreover, the delivery of my order was delayed two months at the outset. Disappointing purchase and product."
