color disappointing,

By: yecats

"Nice fabric, very nice construction, good fit, but the color had a lot less green in it than pictured--it is more of a medium blue. I'll keep it, but wish it had been closer to the color in the photo."

"The color in the catalog is more green than the one online, and the jacket is more like the online photo. It is a well-made versatile jacket, and I look forward to wearing it."

"I loved the color and quality but had to send back as it was too large all over. I ordered a size 4 which was the smallest they carry. Wish this came in a petite.
one drawback is the neck is a little too high"

"High quality, lovely color, perfect for conservative job with a little color. A big change from the grey and black standard in business without being bold!"

fit,

By: RubyAnn

"Because of the reviews I ordered this jacket in a size smaller than I usually wear. The shoulders were still too wide and the sleves were too long. It as too tight in the middle. I usually wear a pretty standard size medium, but I have trouble with Orvis sizing."

VERSATILE JACKET,
January 21, 2013
By: Grandma1943

"I am enjoying this jacket! It can be dressed up or down, sleeves are a little long for me, but I can live with them. The jacket is a heavy weight boiled wool so is warm even during the winter. Really like the teal!"

Disappointed!,
January 21, 2013
By: DrJada

"Had high hopes for this jacket but was sorely disappointed. The "teal" color is nothing like the catalog photo. In real life, it is a medium shade of blue. The buttons are cheap looking & the shoulders are disproportionately wide. Sent it back immediately."

Warm and Stylish,

By: Isolikka

"I saw this jacket in your catalog and liked it. When it arrived, it was just as beautiful as the picture. For the very first time, I have a boiled wool jacket with a lining. It will make it more comfortable since wool is a bit too rough for me."

A Classic!,

By: Sheeplady

"I wore this jacket for the first time & did I ever receive the compliments! It's classic styling & great quality will make it last a lifetime. The sleeves are plenty long for the taller person and the body has a snug fit. I believe it might run slightly large."

Lovely Jacket,
December 5, 2012
By: laundrymom
from chicago area
"I bought the teal version of this boiled wool jacket. It fits perfectly, the collar just the right height to be dramatic and the sleeves long enough to keep wrists warm from the chill. The color is just as pictured and is flattering on all skin types. I have paired this jacket with jeans for a dressy casual look and also worn it with a long skirt for a semi-formal evening ensemble. It can be sporty, almost equestrian, with boots and beautifully feminine with ruffles and lace and heels. It is a great addition to my wardrobe."

nice jacket but color off,
December 4, 2012
By: pondladytoo
from Baltimore, MD
"I ordered this jacket in the light raspberry because of how the color looked on your website. When I received it, I was not happy with the actual color, which was a lot more in the purple range. It looked more pink on the website and that's what I was looking for. I ordered it in a small and an extra small because of the comments on other reviews stating that the jacket ran big. I found that to be true as the extra small fit just fine (I usually wear a small). Even though I will be returning both sizes, I gave my rating and recommendation based on quality, not my own personal preference of color. The quality is excellent."

Nice, but disappointing fit.,
November 28, 2012
By: balemap
from Virginia
"I loved this jacket in the catalog photo, and I still like it...sort of. Two problems: first, it's a bit stiff and bulky because the boiled wool is quite thick. Second, it's a bit baggy (I'm a dead-center size medium) and the sleeves were too long. I decided to keep it anyway, so I took it to a tailor and had the sleeves shortened (for $32) and it looks and feels much better now."

Runs large,

"Runs large through shoulders and sleeve length, even though i have broad, square shoulders and long arms. Buttons could be a nicer design more suitable for the price of this jacket. Will return."

Poor fit,
November 2, 2012
By: Redbeech
"The jacket looked good on the model and I liked the colour I chose. However, it didn't fit me at all - I'm fairly slim, but reasonably broad shouldered, so the cut of the armholes was wrong."
