"This is a really nice cardigan/jacket. I bought the ash colour because I didn't want yet another navy cardigan, although I thought it may possibly be a little bit insipid.However it is a gorgeous silver grey colour and just what I was looking for. It is very smart and could be worn with a skirt or trousers. I'm very pleased. The only problem for me is that it is slightly large and,as others have commented, the sleeves are quite long."

"This is sold as a jacket, but is definitely a sweater. I put it on and because its mostly wool, it is VERY itchy. It also looks like I'm in an episode of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band"

"One of the best purchases ever from Orvis. Why? Because this makes a fashion statement. As much as I adore Orvis, sometimes that's lacking. The sweater does have a more slender fit and feel but so attractive. The boiled wool front design is done so well and the quality is superb. Love, love, love!"

"I am wearing this very warm, comfortable boiled wool jacket and am quite pleased with it. Only one complaint to report and that is with the sleeves. The sleeves are too wide and much too long.I have to put a double roll at the end of each sleeve to have it hit my wrist bone. Not a major problem but is does sort of spoil the overall tailored appearance."

"Picture in the catalogue looks much more ecru than the actual jacket. It's definitely grey which the name would suggest. I like the grey and find it a good addition to my black/grey clothing. Have received several positive comments on it. Sleeves long for me, however"

"What a refreshing new Idea in boiled wool! I love boiled wool because it is cozy, but lightweight. This military-looking jacket is unique and well-made. I love the expensive buttons on the front. I have a small budget, but I had to have this, and it is worth it!"

"As luck would have it, at the time I ordered this sweater, the regular "S" (small) size [in the "ash" (i.e. grey) colour] wasn't available, and so, with some trepidation, I decided to take a chance on the still-available "XS" (I'm 5'2", 120lbs). Good thing I did, because this particular "XS" ended up fitting me just fine'n'dandy with tasteful, well-tailored, flattering modesty (read: not too tight, just right --or so I'm told). Which leads me to think that, if you're contemplating ordering this, perhaps order a bit smaller than you think you should. With me being a smidge on the shorter end of the altitude-scale, the sleeves are a tad long [for me], but hey, no biggie; they look fine folded up a bit. So, all in all: I'm pleased."

"Because of the knitted sleeves, it is not as bulky as other boiled-wool jackets. It is a soft gray color and the detail on the front lends a tailored look. Sleeves are too long for my taste, but I am keeping it!"

"I've received many compliments on this sweater. The navy color was one I've been searching for, as I'm primarily a jeans girl. Dress up or dress down, this sweater does its duty. It's warm and stylish. The small size fits me perfectly with one exception: the somewhat long sleeves as already pointed out in previous reviews."
