"I gave these shorts to my son and he loves them and they look great, BUT, the waist is a bit too small. It is the usual size he takes and he fits in all the other clothes this size. I phoned customer service and they said they would stretch an inch in the waist...I hope so!"

"I needed Bretton red shorts and was told these were the best. Good old fashioned quality, which I like. But the fabric is too course. Better option is the Surfwashed shorts in Vineyard Red - softer, comfortable fabric with same color."

"The shorts look exactly as I expected and they are labelled [waist 34] as I specified.
But they don't fit. Other Orvis garments and other products [jeans] sized 34 [or even 33] fit fine -- but these shorts are way too small.
Now I have to figure out how to return/exchange them."

"I have been in pursuit of a pair of these Nantucket Reds for at least two years now. Every time I have ordered them they have ben unavailable, so this year I was pleased to be able to finally score a pair.I like the fit and the feel of the shorts. The material was a bit heavier than I expected, a bit more durable which is not a problem. The fit was good. The only problem I experienced was that after a single wearing the top button came off. When I examined how it was sewn on the manufacturer could have been a bit more generous with the amount of thread used. A quick repair and I was back to sporting my Reds!"
