Orvis Heritage Field Coat
Its forebears hang in a thousand closets and have seen lifetimes in the field. We've brought this classic field coat back with subtle updates to become the favorite of yet another generation. Our dry-waxed cotton canvas turns away briars and repels rain. Traditional red brushed-twill lining. Lower bellows pockets with snap-closure pocket flaps. Two upper slash handwarmer pockets. Gusseted underarm panels with grommets for ventilation. Shooting patches on both shoulders and reinforced elbow patches. Adjustable button cuffs with corduroy trim. Corduroy collar. Rear-entry waterproof game bag with two side zips and interior lining. Bi-swing back for comfort. Full zip front with button-closed wind flap. Two interior pockets. Pure cotton. Damp sponge. Imported.Sizes S(34-36), M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52). About 31" long in size large.

"Firstly, the delivery of the jacket was on time.
The jacket is of a high quality and fits well. I am aproximately 6ft tall and weigh 78kg so I rang up the customer services prior to purchasing to confirm the correct size for me, the women that I spoke to was very helpful and knowlegable about the jacket and advised that I should definately order a medium size jacket, she was right.
there maybe two things that I would question about the design of the jacket.
1. There is no closure system (zips,buttons or poppers) on the hand warmer pockets so when I was out in the rain the other day water was getting in.
2. I think the jacket would benefit from having an internal drawstring at waist level, or there abouts. This observation is two fold, it will prevent heat loss out of the jacket and also gather in and contour the jacket to the wearers body shape.
I did not get any product care instructions with the jacket so in time I will have to contact Orvis to confirm the corect way to clean and reproof the jacket, I think a more comprehensive guide should be available with the jacket.
These are not criticisms just observations that in my opinion could improve, what is a well made and fit for purpose jacket."

"From the title you may surmise that I don't like my jacket, that is not the case, it's great. But is it brilliant, that is another question.
You may have spent £200 on a jacket before, and expected fine finishes, functionality, and that fun element, this has it all; but does it have the additional wow factor, or the feeling of greatness every time you use it, no, it falls short.
So, if your looking for a 'great' jacket, then yes buy one if you can afford it. If your looking for 'Brilliant', you may be returning it."

"The product does what I want it to do, which is be an in between weather out coat. So far, I've picked days that have been a wee bit too cold without wearing a heavier top (sweater) under the jacket. Otherwise, the jacket is what I've been looking for regarding fit and finish. he color is okay, too."

"Recently purchased the Heritage Field Coat. I have been wearing it as an all-weather coat over a shirt or sweater on cooler days. The game bag is not really functional, as there is not a way to drop it down for cleaning. As an all-around casual coat with great fabric feel, you won't be disappointed with this Heritage Field Coat. Has a two-way zipper, which is a must."

"I swapped the olive for dark khaki color. The process was very easy. I like the jacket, it's of good quality, but the zipper is a hassle to catch. Once you get the hang of it, it's less annoying but takes practice."

"I needed to replace my aging field coat and decided to go for quality, that brought Orvis to mind, and I was not disappointed.
The coat was delivered as promised and I am very impressed with quality of cloth, fit, design, and features.
The material is durable without being stiff, the zipper, buttons and snaps are of excellent quality, fit and finish.
The coat fits well, leaving room underneath for layering, all the pockets are easily accessible and functional.
All in all an excellent coat for mild to cold weather with an outdoor style."

"My wife surprised me with this coat this past summer for a late birthday present...I have admired this coat for years and just never would "pull the trigger" on it!...I actually like this one vs the newer updated version , because of the "traditional old fashion red lining"...It is now my favorite coat...Very versatile , very traditional , stylish and good looking...I wore it daily in Nashville this past Christmas during a family vacation and it was absolutely perfect...With jeans during the day or slacks at night out to dinner...AND as usual the Orvis High quality!"

"I've been searching for a coat like this for years. I had one many years ago that I loved, but eventually wore out. My wife and friends all comment on how nice it looks and I couldn't be happier about its fit and finish. I love having all the pockets to carry my "stuff." I am retired now and plan to live in it until the warm weather forces me to take it off until fall."
