Waxed Cotton Anorak
The anorak was originally designed by the Inuit to protect them from the harshest elements. In the '50s the military took the design and applied it for their use and this dry-waxed cotton version is inspired by that design. Fully lined with our signature Orvis plaid lining. Pullover style with six-button neck closure. Hood with drawstring cinch. Traditional front pouch with button flap closure. Bottom cinch cord to keep out the elements. Two-button adjustable cuff. Pure cotton. Cold sponge, no soap. Imported.Sizes: S(34-36), M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52); about 31½" long in size large.

Where's the wax?!,
May 14, 2013
from Wilton, CT
"My initial reaction upon receiving my new "Waxed Cotton Anorak" was I was in possession of another well-made product from Orvis. However, upon closer inspection I realized there seems to absolutely no "Waxed Cotton" at all on this garment(?!) I own a couple of other waxed coats and the wax coating is quite obvious.. This coat just appears to be a heavy canvas exterior with a light lining (again, with no wax).. So I must say that I'm a bit mystified by all of this / let alone the fact that the coat is named the "Waxed Anorak." I'm keeping the coat because I appreciate the syling and it does seem quite well made; but I do find it quite a disappointment that there is no wax... Lastly, if anyone from Orvis reads this, please let me know if there is an after market 'wax' that I can purchase that I can apply to this coat (most Filson coats send a can of it in the pocket of their wax jackets)."

"I was thrilled when I tried this anorak on. I loved the fit, the cut, the features...but the fabric was a disappointment. Dull and cheap looking. My wife flatly rejected this anorak for the fabric. So I had to send it back. If Orvis improves the material I will buy it again."
