Adjustable Tension Bobbin
Eliminate loose thread or broken thread with this unique fly tying bobbin with a drag system that allows adjustment to just the right tension. Hardened stainless steel polished to perfection in the thread tube to prevent thread from fraying. Nicely weighted. Made in Italy.

"I loved the design concept of this bobbin unfortunately I could not get used to its holding it in my hand. I tried it over a few days but unfortunately it wasn't for me as I could not hold it with much of a comfort level during that time. On a positive note, the bobbin had a nice solid feel to it and adjusting thread tension was a snap though swapping out thread takes slightly longer than a conventional type bobbin."

"Well made product from Italy but arrived without any instructions. Not wanting to break this fragile tool I had to look up instructions on the web. This is a reoccurring problem with Orvis products. The last time I had this problem I took the product to an Orvis store and nobody had any idea how to use it. ORVIS -Try printing instructions for your tools."

"You won't drop your bobbin with this one. The captive design allows you to attach the spool so it can not fall off by accident.
Adjustable tension prevents birds nests from occuring and improves control as you wrap the flie.
Superior design and exceptional quality. Only way to make this better would be to replace the plastic parts with brass components - but then the price would be too high.
Toss out the old bobbin for this one!"

"This is a really cool little tool! Was able to easily dial in the tension - it just works. Cut down the time to tie salmon flies and will give it a try on smaller trout flies after the holidays My first order got 'lost' by UPS and Orvis quickly sent a second that arrived promptly. After only a few flies, I need two of these on the bench - the lost one that just arrive won't be gong back."

"I've been very happy with my purchase. This bobbin is very smooth and the spool tension easily adjusts to handle threads from the 8/0 stuff I use to tie tricos and midges to the gel spun thread I use for spinning deer hair. I would recommend this bobbin to anyone."

"I find this product works best on large flies when I am tying with heavier thread. I sometimes have a hard time setting the tension on light weight threads. It does work good with 6/0 and heavier threads."
