Clearwater Hook Assortments
Clearwater fly tying hook assortments come packaged in a 12-compartment (magnetic bottom with foam dividers) hook pallet. Total of 180 hooks per assortment. If purchased separately would cost more than $40. The most popular sizes and styles of each variety of hook. Example: In the dry selection you would receive sizes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 in both down-eye and straight-eye styles.

"As a novice to fly tying, I needed a hook assortment to facilitate practice on many different fly types and sizes. This is a cost competitive way to do that and the storage box is great asset for re-stocking. The cross-reference lists also facilitate getting the right hooks for each recipe."

"I have way too many items on my fly tying bench, especially small containers of fly fishing hooks. Now, with the Orvis Clearwater assortment for dry flies, I can be more efficient and not lose hooks in the tying materials. The box is segregated with foam strips by hook size and the box is magnetized to help me prevent spillage. I enjoy have a variety and choice in sizes for each tying adventure. Thanks, Orvis.!!!"

"Orvis hooks are excellent, my only complaint is that when shipped the hooks moved into other compartments so my hooks are all mixed up now. But they ties well and make great flies that float high, hook well and stay sharp."

"I was almost scared off from ordering these assortments because of the reviews complaining about the hooks arriving all mixed-up in the containers. I went ahead on ordered anyway and all 6 assortments arrived without a single hook out of place. The containers are great and i am very pleased with the product."

"I have every one of these assortments and they have done me well. these are good hooks from the Waspi co, lightening strike. the container is the best way i can imagine to store smaller hooks. It seems people are getting all bent out of shape because the hooks bounce around different compartments. I have had this problem, but the hooks usually do not make it to the next compartment, get stuck in between at the top of the box. Not a big problem for me, but there are simple solutions. You can either glue strips of foam or card-stock to the top interior of the box or you could do the same on the outside and bind the boxes together with rubber bands when traveling. I have divided the compartments of smaller sizes by gluing foam and card-stock to create more storage compartments. This has allowed me to fit all my dry-fly hooks in one box, and so on. Great product. Could use improvements, but you can easily devise these improvements to fit your individual needs."

"The hooks arrived as advertised and well packaged. There was some re-sorting to be done because some hooks became dislodged from their bins, but no big deal. Glad to have the boxes with magnetic bottom and labels to organize the hooks."

"These are quality hooks at a good price. The magnetic holder is the best. I've been using a version of this for a dozen years. This set is okay. Three types of hooks, all short shank emergers sized 16-24, 16-22, and 16-20. For a midge assortment it is a bit large for me, but they will all be used and they will sting fish for sure."

"I like this set. pre-labeled helps alot and is easy to re-stock. Magnet not too strong so do not shake the box or the hooks might move to the wrong compartment."
