"there is almost no way to watch this fly as it drifts, it works though. Be quick with the hook set."

"The photograph shows an upright wing; the flies (several dozen) delivered were down-winged (like an elk hair caddis). The fly worked well, in any event."

My "Go-To" Caddis Fly,
December 18, 2007
By: Rugby10
"This caddis fly produces on almost every river I have fished in the Northeast. When trout are not taking elk hair caddis, or parachute caddis, they almost always hit the E-C Caddis. I primarily fish the West Branch of the Ausable, the West Canada Creek, and the Battenkill, and I can't recall a day not landing at least one decent sized trout on the EC. Fish this in the riffles and be prepared. Dead drift, twitch, or let it "drown" at the end of the drift; you can't go wrong. Next to the Adams line of flies, this is my favorite fly."
