BH Micro Mayfly
Never be afraid to go small. This micro bead head fly pattern imitates a number of insect nymphs in much smaller, or micro sizes. These micro flies work very well as dropper patterns on smaller dries that can't take the weight of larger nymphs. "Used a size 18 micro may under a strike indicator and managed to land a 18" cut-bow on the Eagle River outside Vail, Colorado. I had only caught one smaller brown on an egg pattern before I started using the micro may. The guys in the fly-fishing Outfitters store in Avon suggested this fly to me. This fly changed my fishing for the week. It did great in the murky run-off water of the mid spring in the Rockies. I would advise any one to use this fly when trout are taking small nymphs."
