Spotlight Caddis Emerger

One of the great things about fishing caddis emerger flies is their remarkable effectiveness due to the vulnerable stage they're imitating; trout key in on this. One of the hard things about fishing Caddis emergers is they are down in the film and often very difficult to see. This caddis fly pattern offers the best of both worlds, a very realistic pattern that will draw strikes with a parachute post that makes it much easier to see. Sizes: Tan (14, 16, 18), Black (18, 20), Olive (14, 16, 18)

Impressive,

"I've fished the Elk Wing adult Caddis for quite a while and decided to give an emerger Caddis a try. I'm sorry I waited so long. The natural of this fly is often a more attractive and easier prey for trout. A must have in the dry fly fisherman's fly box. Love this fly and have caught 20+ fish with it over the last 2 outings."

"This fly has single-handedly accounted for about 60 fish-to-hand results in three outings between 2 guys. During most of the time on each of these trips, there was little-to-no hatch activity and few rises by fish to natural forage. At times, we encountered a fish hit/hookup on every cast for 5-10 casts. At the same time, other offerings of standard caddis, black caddis and other match-the-hatch flies accounted for few or no hits. On the last trip (the best of the 3), we were getting solid surface hits in water with less than 18" visibility. I finally had to cut mine off after 11 trout, because there was very little left of it from all those sharp teeth!"

"This fly was the top producer for landlocked salmon on a 3 day trip to a famous Maine stream. We hooked a large fish on the spotlight emerger that broke off on a hard run. Later that evening we landed a large salmon on the spotlight emerger. This fish had BOTH flies in it's jaw. The post does make it easier to see in low light but I'd use it all day, it's a top performer."
