"Ordered shirt in blue several years ago. It's one of my favorites, so decided to get the white. Nice to wear buttoned with pants or open over a tee. Love the fabric."

"I ordered this shirt in an Extra Large for which everything I wear is an Extra Large but in this case I had to return it for it fit more like an 1x or a 2x. Extremely large for an Xl..Also, I was not satisfied of the look of this shirt, it wasn't rich looking it looked like a shirt that you would wear on a farm doing your chores. I returned my purchase. The color was good."

"I have the white and the blue - the blue is a softer material. Both make great overshirts if you want to deflect sun rays or a bit of warmth in air conditioning that is too cold. Both run true to size. It would be great if Orvis offered a slightly more stylish version of the white shirt, too - a straight bottom with pleats on the side and a tie around belt for a slightly less casual look. But if you want a great overshirt, this is a marvelous pick."

"I have been enjoying my Tradewinds shirt for many years. I have one in chambrey and one in indigo. I tried to replace them as mine are getting very old and shabby. The new one they sent I had to return. The fabric was nothing like the lovely high quality smooth fabric that they had used in the past, but now it is made in a wrinkled, poor quality fabric. What a loss."

"Usually Orvis clothes are good but this one was not the same colour blue as was pictured in the brochure, and the shirt was creased/unironed.

"The quality is nothing like that of my husband’s Orvis shirts and yet the price is similar despite his being far larger than mine. This shirt’s fabric is thin, lightweight and needs careful and thorough ironing, unlike my husband’s Orvis shirts which are pretty much “wash and go”. The detail on this shirt (pockets, buttons, stitching) is cheap and of poor design and execution, unlike my husband’s Orvis shirts which look and feel good quality, well designed and manufactured. In an Equal Ops world I expected equal quality for us girls, but didn’t get it.
Unfortunately I ordered this shirt late for an extended trip and didn’t allow myself sufficient time to reject and return (my fault, not Orvis’ who delivered promptly). Unlike my husband’s Orvis shirts, this did not respond well to the rigors of travel."

"I liked this cotton shirt so much I now have two. Very soft, lovely material to wear. True colour (blue) and not too tight or too loose.
It doesn't crease when wearing, but after washing it does need careful ironing.
So if you are looking for non-iron, it is not for you.
But I love it!"

"When i read these 'reviews' i am amazed...after trying twice on this shirt, i finally gave up to reality. First, the fabric was very lightweight.
Secondly, there was no chance of it coming out of the dryer without being in one big wrinkled mess.
Viewing the picture so nicely advertised on line and in catalog was a completely different take on this shirt. Orvis, please.....make this shirt a wrinkled free experience so that those of us can ultimately enjoy it. Thx."

"I was planning to wear this shirt with a vest, but the scooped shirttail looked odd hanging under the vest. A straight hem would have been better. Also, the button holes were poorly stitched."
