"I'm a police officer who bought this reflective collar for my drug dog.
I was concerned he may get out of my back yard (especially at night). If he got out it would be hard for drivers to see him in the roadway, since he is a black lab. This collar is highly reflective and you can see it from a very long distance away. I'm glad they improved the collar by embroidering the information you desire on it. I had them print the police dept. he works for, so he could be returned if he gets loose. The ONLY con I see with this collar is it is not made heavy enough to attach a lead to as a primary collar. I would still recommend this collar to others, especially police agencies who have expensive dogs."

"These are great collars, especially if you let your dog loose in the neighborhood in the evening. We live on a culdesac and cars are going slowly at that point anyway, so this helps. Also, great for walks on the street as vehicles approach, the collar alarms them to slow down."

"I ordered this because I have been pleased with previous collars from Orvis and the price is competitive.
This particular collar was purchased so my dog would be visable in semi dark places along the trail - the rest of him blends in! I can pick it up from a significant distance, and I am satisfied with the product."

"My friend put me on to this product as my dog Rocky got knocked by a car at night, His tags kept coming off and I hadn't replaced it. I thought this was an ideal product as when I walk him in the evenings in winter I will be able to see him & having our contact details on the coller makes it really obvious Lucky Rocky is doing really well now."

"We love the reflective quality of this collar and lead, since we have a jet black dog who melts into the darkness and becomes invisible. And if you call the service dept of Orvis, they'll set the collar at the exact fit and THEN embroider the name/phone no. so that the clip doesn't obscure the letters/numbers after you size the collar to your dog's neck, The only complaint I have is that because the collar is somewhat stiff, it does not shape itself exactly to the dogs neck and therefore, unless you make the collar overly-snug on him, the collar will slip over the dog's head...depends on dog's build also. Our dog has a small head and thick neck so collar is not secure. We have to use two leashes...one on Orvis collar and another on a halter to keep dog from getting away from us. Otherwise, collar is great for visibility in darkness, very well made, and attractive."

"I have ordered from Orvis in the past because they've been the best reflective collars and leashes I have identified after an exhaustive web search. In the past, both the collar and the leash were a bit wider (which I liked) AND the collar clasps were metal (preferred)- now they are plastic. Overall quality is still superior: just wish I could re-order the same ones no longer availalbe!"

"Bought these for our boxers. After wearing for only 4 months the reflective part began peeling off. Not only unattractive but pieces were on the floor and lost the reason for buying this product. Even short names were covered when bought in sizes to fit the dogs."

"In 2007 I purchased this same collar in 5/8" width. Although it worked fine, I still wanted more reflection for my Black Lab at night. I was delighted to see it offered in a 1" width in her collar size. She now illuminates my nights and days!

"Very impressed with the collar itself, however the lead itself seems a little flimsy (esp for a large/strong dog).. So I only use the one it came with as a back up.
Delivery took a good four weeks, from date of order to delivery, with communications being poor which required me getting in touch with Orvis to find out what was happening with the order. However staff on the online portal, were very helpful and friendly."

"I really like the reflective personalized collar. Makes us more visible in the dark winter months. Collar width is good size for small dog (not too wide). I wish the latch was a buckle, seems rather bulky on a small neck. Overall great collar. I also ordered the matching harness - I would rate that one 4 stars as well."

"I have two white dogs, one short-haired and one long-haired. I bought these collars for both dogs. The D-rings are not stainless steel and after a very short time will turn your fingers black if you rub them. The ring didn't stain the hair on my short-haired dog, but the hair on my long-haired dog's neck was stained black in a surprisingly large area after just a couple weeks of wear."

"I have 5 dogs and all have collars with their name and my phone number. The last one I purchased was from Orvis. It is so superior quality and easier to read at a distance. It cost a few extra dollars but was absolutely worth it"

"We love this reflective collar for our black labs. We can see them from a distance even at night. Being able to put their id on the collars is the best. No clinky tags to contend with. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is that after a while the collars absorb a sour odor that you cannot get rid of. But at the affordable price, we are able to keep extras for periodic replacement."

"This collar is of the utmost quality. It is substantial, not flimsy. The personalized stitching goes through to the underside of the collar so it cannot "wear" off. The reflective material was a good choice for me since my puppy is black. Definitely worth the price paid. I'm positive the collar will stand the test of time. Thanks Orvis!"
