"This is a so-so quality garment.
It is decently tailored, but there are some disappointing aspects: The fabric is something like 45% synthetic, the rest wool. The heft and feel of the coat is rather synthetic and boxy, and the buttons on the sleeves look cheap. Orvis used to sell all high quality njackets - the quality seems to have fallen off."

"Contrary to the reviews I read, I bet on Orvis, and it was a great call. Not a jeans sport coat, but definitely great with slacks for business casual and is nice enough for dress up ties too. Good for all seasons.

"Unlike Orvis sportscoats I have owned in the past, all of which fit superbly right out of the box, this coat did not. It appeared to to sized for somewhat obese individuals. Also one of the front buttons was sewed on at a location that prevented the jacket from being buttoned."

"I need a well-constructed jacket to wear for business and am pleased at how well this jacket fits and how well it is put together.
It looks great and is the perfect weight for the all-day meetings I have to participate in.
The quality and price make this a very good value.
