Fixing the zipper problem,

"I am a bit of a vest connoisseur since I wear one nearly every day from fall to spring and use several brands. This one is a fine product with one signal flaw. The zipper is difficult to get started, which is a real pain. Enough so, that I nearly sent it back. I solved this, however, after reading another reviewer who noted there seemed to be a spur on the metal zipper leader. Mine did indeed have a palpable, rough, elevated spur. I filed this flush using a fine steel file and the zipper is working well. An easy fix, but one that shouldn't be necessary on a $129.00 product. So, 4 stars."

"I bought this for my 75 year old father and we found that the zipper can be difficult to manage. I tried and had the same challenges with the zipper as my father had. Its difficult to get started. Once its started, it zips right up but the challenge is in that first step."

"pulled it out of the package, tryed it on and stuck back in package to return. Did not fit well way to small for XXL and not at all what I expected for a Polar Tec product, very flimsey, not what I would expect from Orvis."

"Like the fit and the look.
the zipper is troublesome. It takes a lot of work to get it to start. I think there as a slight metal spur that gets in the way."

"This fleece fits great. Plently of warmth for such a lightweight material. I have had some trouble with the double zipper binding up at the bottom, however. Overall, good performance and value."

"Although I did not like the vest and returned it without giving it to my son for Christmas, the biggest disappointment for me was receiving TWO vests instead of one. I called and your customer service people were very polite and helpful and told me how to return them. Then when I looked at my bill I learned I had been "rounded up by $1 for something -- don't know what!!! I never agreed to doing that. So my Orvis experience has not been good."
