"The most comfortable shoe or boot I've ever worn. Butter soft leather and a wide toe box which surprised me in a European shoe.. Only negative and it is one that was advertised is the "flexibility" which for me meant the sole was not sufficiently rigid when walking uphill. My orthodontics helped solve that problem.."

"Beautiful shoe,but was ordered before my husbands podiatrist appointment. When it came in he loved the shoe but would not wear it until it was approved by the doctor. It Was Not.....even with the orthodox it was not wearable for him...Too soft and not enough support."

"I love these shoes, they are exceptionally comfortable, and I think the styling and functionality of the lacing system are unique and very good design. The finish of the leather is also great. I do think there is room for improvement/refinement. I would add about 1/8" to the thickness of the sole, and I would add a little bit of padding to the insole. I hate to think of the sole wearing out too quickly and not being able to re-sole them. A little extract thickness would give a bit more cushion without detracting from the styling. I like that these are so unique, but not flashy and they fit great without being broken in. Because of the lacing going full length I can wear different thickness socks and still have a good fit."

"I have several pairs of European sized shoes. They are all 45's and fit fine. I do have 1 pair of 44's and they are tight. So I expected these to fit my size 11 feet in 45. They were like boats. I couldn't even judge what size I would need to move down too. Also the leather is not of the quality I expected and the padding and footbed are poor."

"These boots looked a lot cooler on the internet than they did in person. I read in reviews that the sizing was big, so I ordered smaller than I normally would. Still too big, and the quality of the boots was much lower than I expected. Shipping also took a long time."

"Everything about the order service and the product was excellent and as advertised. The boots fit perfect as I ordered one size smaller and they were very comfortable as soon as I tried them on. I bought them for a walking tour of the Greek Isles next year and they will be perfect for such an outing."

"These shoes are very comfortable. Durable, but light weight. Great for flat land hiking...not really a mountain trail shoe.
As some other reviews stated, I found it true that the next smaller shoe size than you normally wear.offers a better fit."

"I have 3 pair of Pikolino shoes and they have been very comfortable. I expected a more substantial sole with boots, however. The top of the boot is very nice but the sole is too thin and flexible for a pair of shoes like these."

"I have been looking at these shoes for a couple years, should have bought them when I first saw them. First day out of the house on my feet for 14 hours. They are great. It has become a toss up, either wear them or my 1000 mile boots. Sizing based on reviews I read, I bought two pair, my regular size was right, waste of extra shipping $$."

"I bought these boots to take on a trip that would include lots of walking in areas that i couldn't really prepare. I also had to pack light so I needed to wear them in all types of environments.
I must say these boots fit the bill perfectly. I wore them w/ jeans, chinos and shorts and they were just right.
The size chart for me was spot on as I ordered a size smaller based on other comments and had to return for the size i usually wear in Euro size. If you have wide feet, as i do, order your size.
lastly, I got them the day I left...no blisters, not soreness, no rubbing they were just right.
Oh, the Orvis shipping policy leaves a lot to be desired as I had to pay both ways which added quite a bit to the price."
