Our customer-favorite cotton-blend ripstop weave makes this versatile travel jacket lightweight, breathable, and remarkably durable, too. Well suited to outerwear or sport-coat duty, our UV- and stain-resistant jacket is half lined in lightweight cotton, and features an indispensable interior travel-pocket system that includes an eyeglasses pocket with cleaning cloth, as well as pockets for cell phone, passport, and plane tickets. "The coat fits well.some might consider it a trim fit compared to the Zambezi twill jacket. Comfortable fit.
One "flaw": Epaulets are placed too far back on the shoulders."

"First, I want to say that I love the way this jacket looks and fits. I have received many compliments. My issue is that on the first day I wore it, 20 minutes in, the stitching on the button loop on the shoulder came loose and the button fell off. Fortunately, I found the button and sewed the button-loop back. For $275.00, I expect better workmenship. If you want it, by all means buy this jacket. I would so again."

"This is my favorite jacket, cut like a blazer, light enough for spring. Add a heavy sweater underneath and you have warmth for winter plus you keep mobility. I have a 43 chest, and M fit perfect, if you understand it's a slimmer fit."

"A nice product, with good material and lots of useful pockets. But the cut of this is definitely not that of a 'coat', but much more that of a jacket. It's almost a sports jacket. I solved the problem by bringing it to a tailor and getting a third button put in above the others and re-ironing the collars. I also got them to realign the epaulettes, which were misaligned."

"I'm usually a large in Orvis sizes and am a 40 L coat size but the Ripstop in a large was way too big on me. I've been really curious about this jacket for a while, so I finally decided to order it. The picture did not really live up to the actual product however. It has an odd, boxy cut that is pretty unattractive and the top pockets (which you can't really see in the image) are way too prominent. That being said, the inner pockets did seem quite nice for travel."

"This is a case of the apparel not living up to the picture. I'd describe this well-made jacket as rather militaristic in style. It's not just the epaulets but the way the shoulders are held straight by them as though they were padded. The illustration doesn't suggest this at all. It also doesn't show how prominent the chest pockets are.
It's rare for me to return an Orvis item but this was one case in which I had no choice because I knew I wouldn't wear it.
Orvis, as usual, handled the return (exchange, actually) in their usual sterling manner."

"I had high hopes for this product. But the XL sizing of this product is woefully inadequate for a tall man.
Unless the design is intended to be some kind of metro-chic with 3/4 length sleeves and a short waist, the XL size is misleading. Please, Orvis--create a 'tall' line and see your sales increase."

"Unfortunately I did not know this coat looks and fits liike a sports jacket. Had I known this, I would not have ordered. I was looking for a jacket. If they posted a better picture with someone modeling the coat I would not have had my disappointment."

"I love my Ripstop coat. It is light weight and can be worn with jeans or casual trousers. Plenty of pockets to carry things, everything has a place. This coat is a nice addition to the man that likes to always look dressed even when in jeans. I don't always tell people where I buy my clothes because I don't like to see everyone wearing the same thing I have on, and this coat is my secret!!"

"Poor quality for the money, strange fabric, lousy fit...item returned the same day received. I'm a standard 44 reg. so I ordered size large. The jacket fit like it was a size 40."

"I loved the coat and the features. I had to return it because the sizing wan not right for my frame. My size for the Orvis system of S/M/L fits me inbetween M/L. I wear a 42 jacket so the M is too snug, and the L fit the shoulders, but I swam in the body section. If it fit ME better I would be wearing it everyday."

"The Ripstop Bush jacket disappoints on too many criteria with fit and appearance heading the list. The jacket misses the mark in terms of the multi purpose expectations in the marketing pitch. It may be suitable in the field ( I will test in the next month) but the ability to travel light with a multi function jacket that can double for both meetings and trekking falls well short of the mark. Drab olive and epaulettes may be ok in the jungle but less obvious but equally useful tabs could have been used."
