"The navy polka-dot dress is great! I got it for my 86-year-old mom. It is very hard to find dresses that older women can wear. Of course, it is cute enough that I would love to wear it as well. I'm so happy to find something with sleeves and that is a reasonable length. The only thing I wish was different is that it would made of a material that is washable instead of dry clean."

"After reading the reviews, I chose to purchase a regular Misses dress rather that a Petite, even though I am only 5'2". The waist was still an inch too short. The dress fits very well otherwise, and the material is wonderful. I appreciate another reviewer's suggestion to purchase a wide belt to help cover the "shortcoming". Great dress, but sizing needs to be reviewed. I was interested in another dress of this style, but I am hesitant now until I see how the wide belt works out."

"A friend of mine ordered this dress for herself and when it was too short waisted for her (she is 5'6"), she let me try it since she knew I was thinking about ordering it. I am only 5'4" and the waistline on the regular dress was a full inch above my waist (yet fit my ample bustline just fine)! I was very disappointed because I loved everything else about this dress (fabric draped bery nicely and I loved the timeless polka dot print) but I looked like a little kid who outgrew her dress and was still wearing it!"

"I love this dress! After reading the reviews I decided to buy a size up due to all of the reviews indicating it is short waisted. It definitely is short waisted and going up one size did help (but it still was a bit too short) i decided to keep it anyway as I loved the style."

"This dress wears like a dream and travels well. However, relative to its length the waist is short. Because it is constructed with a waist, there is no moving the belt around. There is only one position for the belt and this one hits me a couple of inches above my natural waistline. I am 5'9" and have a long waist. Usually I don't have a problem with regular sizing so I was surprised. A petite dress would fit like this."

"Love the feel of the fabric. Quality of workmanship seems good. I bought it after reading the reviews about how short the waist was, so I went in with open eyes. I have to say though I am 5 feet tall and it is about 3 inches short in the waist for me. I don't know who wrote the description, but this is not a shirtwaist dress. It is empire. But having said that, there is nothing like navy and white polka dots to say Spring."

"This dress is extremely attractive and well made. The polka dots are timeless- the dress can ne dressed up or down and it travels nicely. It does run a trifle short waisted but my experience is that a lot of Orvis dresses do. I was prepared for than. If you can accomodate that, this is a keeper."

"I purchased this dress in a 12P but found the waist too high. After on-line chat to determine actual measurements I purchased 14P but it, too, is short waisted. I kept the dress and purchased a 2inch belt as I don't care for the self-belt. The construction is excellent and fabric fabulous but I did note that there were several complaints similar to mine."

"I am short waisted so was not concerned about the comments related to how short waisted the dress is. However, it is ridiculous!! I could barely put the dress on. Fabic was great and would have been very useful for travel. However, the sizing is a real problem."
