Chest Pack,
April 13, 2013
By: Pulse
from Alberta Canada
"The Orvis chestpack doesnt look like much at first glance but when you start adding stuff to it you realize that it has alot more room then what it looks like. I can hold EVERYTHING I need for a day trip and MORE in this pack including 2 fly boxes, 5 spools of tippit, indicators, Tools(forceps, barbcrusher, nipers, knot tyer, scissors) A small firstaid/survival kit, Leaders and of course a Survival Knife.
I loaded this thing up to the Max and When I did I noticed it puts alot of strain on your neck. Id recomend this to someone who has the day pack to go with this or a minimalist taking a light amount of gear."

"I recieved the chest pack as a birthday gift from my husband and I am now going to buy one for my husband! I could tell he was envious when I opened the gift and we saw this, it has lots of room to store everything you need, and I like that is has different ways to wear it, I will enjoy this much better than I would a vest!"

"Great chest pack, love the cammo color. It's nice to get out of the vest with this light weight chest pack, it makes it a little easier to sneak up on some spooky trout. The forceps pocket is very handy, and the magnets that keep everything from flinging around are awesome. I wish I had those on my vest. I just wish the main compartment was about a 1/4 Inch taller, so I could fit 2 fly boxes in there on their side. I just can't get the zipper closed. I might have to get some new boxes."

GREAT PACK,
March 14, 2013
By: Bio1
from WEST PALM BEACH. FL
"I found my chest pack perfect for all my essentials that I am unable to get into my fly vest. Only problem is the magnets are not removable. I have a pacemaker and the magnets interfear with the pacemaker program, also 2 small jumper straps would have been perfect to convert this pack to a shoulder pack."

One major flaw,
January 22, 2013
By: nineX

"The foam fly patch has no slots to allow flies to be slid in and out. You have to hook the point of the fly into the foam and when you remove it, the foam tears. If you fish much, it won't last long."

"Got this as a Christmas gift for my wife and know she'll love it. Bought one for myself too. It will be a fun Christmas loading them up and planning our next river adventure, smallmouth on the Buffalo or steelheading on the North Umpqua, or blue ribbon trout right here in Missouri."

"I just bought the chest pack for Grouse/Woodcock hunting in the woods. I wanted to put my GPS in the outside sleeve pocket for easy access. BUT I discovered that the pocket behind it, opens flat and can hold the GPS flat, hands free by attaching it to the Velcro backing. Very versatile and well made product for all outdoor sports."

Orvis Safe Passage Chest Pack,
October 24, 2012
By: Michael12955
from southwest, Virginia
"I love mine. Seems to hold everything I need,,without a lot of space to try to just 'fill in.' If I want a backpack, that's what I'll carry my extras in. This is a fly tackle pack period, and excels greatly. I'm a loyal Orvis customer and when I can, I purchase Orvis. Their products are really the most thrifty buy,,when you consider it last and last, is well thought out, and performs flawlessly. All thumbs up on this pack.

Just what I was looking for,
September 15, 2012
By: CWL14
from Greenfield, MA
"This pack is excellent if you do not want a lot of gear. I carry one fly box typically. This pack fits a box or two. I carry one and a camera. Interior pockets are great for Tippett, leaders, floatant, etc. I especially like the front pocket that folds out flat with a fly patch.
Keeps all gear close at hand and out of the way.
I attached a gear keeper large zinger to the neck loop for my net and it's comfortable for hours of walking and fishing.
Get this pack if you like keeping the essentials on you and not a lot of extras!"

Good Pouch for Fly Fishing,
August 19, 2012
By: Ryanmad
from Lancaster, PA
"Great pouch - was very happy after first use in Susquehanna River. Was happy that just the right number of compartments and good ribs for holding plenty of flies. Easy to adjust to longer length so can sling under arm while fishing - I had it too short out in front until I fixed it. Quality seems really nice, like it will last years."

Not what I expected,

By: RBOC2

"When the Chest Pack arrived I realized that it was not what I expected. First it was to small and the zippers were hard to work. It took both hands and allot of tugging to get the zipper to work properly. I also found the neck harness to be uncomfortable."

Great Simple Design,
October 21, 2011
By: NoCreel
from Chester Springs, PA
"Having fallen into the trap of carrying too much on the "chance" it may be needed I tried chest packs of other brands and found them to big. The size of this is exactly what I was seeking. It's simple in design but really works. The zipper pulls are easy to grip and it folds out at an angle which makes it easy to see what you need while the inner pockets keep things from tumbling out. The neck pad is just the right shape to reduce strain. The velcro on top is convenient to attach a foam pad (not supplied) for mid-stream fly changes. The interior foam pad will hold a remarkable number of flies."

well designed,
October 4, 2011
By: Rigby416

"Like I needed another flyfishing chest pack, but I do. This mid-sized version, not too small, not too big, just the right size for a brief trip to the river, or an evening casting to inland stripers. A well thought out design, with adequate pockets, and foam fly patch, and the neck strap very comfortable. I own smaller and larger Orvis chest packs, but I suspect I'll be using this more often. Good job Orvis!"
