Perfect Year Round,

"This is the perfect coat to have year round. I previously had the olive color and decided to get the green one too. I love the lined pockets because they are perfect when it gets chilly out. It is the perfect coat to throw on when going to walk the dog or going out to casual events. I have put my old coat through a lot and it is still in perfect condition. The more you wear it, the more worn in it gets and the more character it has. I can't wait to wear this new one in. It is a baggy fit. I'm 5'2", 115lbs and I got the smallest size. It still has some room where I can put on a thick sweater and still be comfortable.
After seeing my coat for a couple years, almost all of my family has a similar Barbour coat now... all from Orvis!"

"This is my second Barbour jacket, and both have their advantages. This one is a slightly more relaxed (but not too baggy) fit that also allows for a liner. It's great for somewhat colder weather. Overall, it has very good construction. The only thing I noticed which might be an issue for some is the sleeves, which seem a bit shorter than on other similarly sized Barbour models. They are fine for me (average height), but might not be for someone who is on the tall side."

"This is probably one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I thought about the initial cost versus the overall value and whether I would actually get the wear out of it I wanted. Not to worry. Since it came I haven't worn any other jacket! It fits very well- true to size- and is very comfortable. I will be ordering the liner and hood for colder weather. I would recommend this to anyone."

"I am usually a size 4 or 6 but, I ordered an 8 and it is perfect. I have long arms so the 8 works great and has room for layers. It is exactly what I wanted and the color is perfect. The color is Sage but, it is really closer to a forest green. I know I will have this coat and enjoy it for a very long time- classic."

"I received this jacket for Christmas. The fit did not seem right so we took it back to the store to exchange. They did not have the jacket in various sizes so returned and reordered on line. The second jacket fit a little better, but the sleeves seem short for the rest of the fit. Kept the jacket, but probably would not recommend buying it due to the sizing issues. Too pricy for such inconvenience."

"My Anglophile husband has long been a Barbour fan, but I didn't get the appeal of the boxy cut, stiff fabric and high price until he gave me this jacket lined with my favorite William Morris print. Planting tulips in the late autumn rain and wind this jacket kept me stylishly dry, the big pockets accommodated tools and gloves and after I sponged off the mud the jacket looks new. I asked for a matching hat for Christmas."

"This is my favourite jacket- it is a nice medium weight but can easily be turned into a three-season jacket with the purchase of a liner. If you live in a cold climate, go ahead and get the hood and liner. They both attach so easily. What I like best is the flannel pockets. They are nice and deep and keep your hands warm in low temperatures.
Only complaint (a minor one) is that the arms are a tad short. They have lovely plaid prints on the inside, but can't be turned up because they would hit you mid-forearm."

"The Bednell jacket has about everything I was looking for in a town and country coat: some very Euro style, terrific quality, lots of pockets, nice fit. My only wish is that the sleeves were longer. They need to be long enough so that there's plenty of cuff showing, long enough to be unrolled and come down over the thumb easily."

"I was skeptical about this coat. It looks very masculine, and I am very petite (5'2 110). After seeing a friend with the Beadnell, I decided to order it via Orvis because of their excellent customer service. Once the jacket arrived- I loved it! It fit perfectly- masculine but in a cute kind of way. It matches everything, and I love that its waterproof. Definitely an investment jacket, but well worth it because of the quality!"

"I have had my eye on this jacket for a couple of years, and this summer I splurged. I did not doubt my decision for one moment and now that the weather is becoming cool and I wear this jacket everyday, my decision is definitely reaffirmed. It has the very classy and classic look and looks great with anything especially dark jeans. It is very warm and the large lined front pockets keep hands warm and are great for holding things such as a wallet and cell phone. It is surprisingly warm and I know I will be wearing this jacket well into the beginning of winter. This jacket is great for the long walks across campus as well as sitting in a cold ice rink watching a hockey game. I will not leave my apartment without this jacket and I highly reccommend it to anyone!"

"This style is more fitted than the other jackets. I wear a size 4. I am 5'2",weigh 110 and it fits perfectly. I love it on drizzly or rainy days. I can wear a thin fleece under it if need be. The front breast style pockets are awesome for hand warming while the front patch pockets hold your phone, lipstick, etc. I love the green color as I just love the military style look. This jacket will be in style for the next 20 years unless you wear it out and remember Barbour always guarantees their products! Awesome even at this price it is worth it."

"Love my new coat, normally wear a size 4/6 but bought a size 8 to accomodate the liner. Additionally, I want extra wiggle room for my active life style. Love the felt-lined hand warmer pockets and the wind and water repellent feature. I am going to purchase the attachable hood."

"This was a surprise gift for my daughter. She is thrilled with the jacket. The size specifications are right on target. The coat fits her perfectly and is very well-styled/tailored. The loden green color is very dark and quite pretty. Don't be concerned about how wrinkled the coat stays. The wrinkles fall out after a few wears. Thank you from one of Santa's succesful elves."
