"First, these are Alden boots and therefore the quality is excellent, very firm and solid, and well constructed - but of course therefore not lightweight. You really feel security in each step.The leather and color are most attractive. The strap feature is very unusual on a men's boot, but therefore very appealing to some - that is what caught my eye! I am very pleased with them."

"These shoes are built like a tank, but the leather was soft and beautiful. They are a little lighter in color than the picture and are built on Alden's Barrie last, so order 1/2 down from your normal size. The monk strap is a nice touch; it's nice to not have to mess with laces. Also, I took them to my local shoe maker to have an additional hole punched in each strap so I could wear them with thinner socks. It took all of 30 seconds and he did not charge me."
