only one to use,

"The best fly box on the planet totally safe and convenient to use very lightweight and practically indestructible"
"I like these boxes because they float, they are fairly low-profile, and are very lightweight. They also accept large, bushy flies well. I don't like, however, the foam; it is rock-hard, making sticking flies into it and taking them out difficult and because the foam doesn't "hug" the hook well because of how hard it is, I often find flies that pop out by themselves."

Great Gift,

"Fits well over 75 flies. great to bring on the water. The ripple/flat large can hold at least 75 flies, a few leaders, and a couple bobbers. Great purchase for the price."

Not Bad...,
September 16, 2012
By: WilcoRox
from Denver,CO
"This fly box closes nice and secure, is light weight and floats well (I know from experience).
The bad thing is that the flies do not always stay secure. I've lost a couple of flies when I"ve opened up the box in windy conditions. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough that I'm giving this box 3 out of 5."

Just What I Needed,

"The medium-sized box, with its light weight, curved shape and rounded corners, fits perfectly in the breast pocket of my fishing shirt. Durable and easy to handle, it has served me well on several trips to the Caribbean. Nicely priced, too."

Lightweight Fly Box,
August 14, 2012
By: MarkS51
"Excellent....Lightweigth...plenty of room....and it floats!!!"
"If you like foam style boxes, then this is the fly box for you. You can choose from ripple or flat (your preference). I really like them because they're durable and light weight. They extra screws on the outside help to reinforce the magnets so they hold up against wear and tear. They're also slightly curved so they fit in your vest well. I like the small one for fitting inside my Orvis Sling Pack. Overall, a solid fly box and very cost effective."

Excellent Fly Box,
June 5, 2012
By: FlyfishingWV

"These fly boxes are my gold standard. The magnetic closure system, durability, floatability, and overall value are fantastic. If it was offered with material to hold hooks rather than having to embed the flies in the foam would be nice. IF they were made in the USA, I would never buy any other fly box."

Not recommended,
June 2, 2012
By: Greenpeter
from Oxfordshire, UK
"I bough the large size a year ago. I have several Orvis rods and reels, and the quality of this product does not match the high standard of the others.
Good points: lightweight, unbreakable, floating, closure mechanism.
Bad points: Flies do not stay put, so that when the box is opened in breeze on the loch, they blow away. By flies, I mean from Muddlers to small wet flies. I think this box is mainly useful for storage after tying, but would not recommend it for anyone planning to use it outside in a windy location."

Outstanding fly box!,
May 27, 2012

"What's not to like about these boxes?! After owning another make/model of foam fly boxes that I have been happy with for years, I bought a medium flat/ripple box at an Orvis store, and have found this Orvis foam box to be my absolute favorite box! It is lightweight, durable, holds my flies securely, the curved shaped helps reduce the bulk of my vest, and I like the name/address label on the back in case I mistakenly lose the flybox on the water or at the truck. I liked my box so much, I bought two large ones. I just wish the large boxes were just a bit larger. Otherwise, no complaints."

Orvis Lightweight Floating Fly Boxes,
April 16, 2012
By: Becket

"I'm replacing older fly boxes that hold the flies by the hook with metal clips. The foam is much more convenient and I don't risk dulling the point. The Orvis box is light, curved for a better fit in my vest and has a very thoughtful feature should I drop it in a stream. It has a name and address label on the back."

"These lightweight, slim, floating boxes are great! They fit easily into your vest/pack pockets and store volumes of flies. Oh yes, they dry very fast after being scooped back out of the water when inadvertantly dropped."

Lightweight Floating Fly Boxes,
March 5, 2012
By: DJS12354

"I purchased two of these fly boxes recently and am somewhat disappointed in them. They are a nice size and close firmly, but the inside has flat surfaces on both sides of the box. Maybe I did not read the description well but I wish at least onside was rippled. It would certainly make adding and removing flies much easier. Also, as a newbie to the sport, the ripple style allows me to easily label the flies."

"Overall box quality is good and light weight as advertisted. The biggest surprise I had was when I opened the box. All I saw was an empty shell. There was no foam backing for flys to attach to. With this purchase I was able to retire my older Orvis metal fly box so I reshaped the foam backing from that box and used in this one. I did call Orvis to "report" what was shipped to me. If there would have been foam backing in the box I would have rated a 5."
