Problem,
April 1, 2013
By: Ray38
"Overall the pant are fine but the stretch feature on the right side does not work -- sent back the pants and the replacement had the same problem on the same (right) side. After pulling hard, I felt a thread break and then it flexed, but the detailed sewing was not clean. Factory needs to fix the problem."

Excellent value,

By: Garnets

"My husband needed some nice wool pants for dressier moments. Now that he's retired, he's gained some weight, and decent trousers were hard to find. These were just the ticket. Comfortable waist, beautiful fabric, conservative styling."

Soft and light weight,
December 28, 2012
By: Redcoat22
from Clearwater, FL
"These pants are wonderful. Very light weight and extremely soft flannel. They do have a comfort waist with a little stretch. Im a 33 and thought I would try the 32 instead of 34. They fit fine in the waist but were not wide enough in the hips so I went up to the 34. Easy exchanges and returns."

Thin fabric, no lining,
November 16, 2012
By: Chas123
from Washington State
"At this price point, I expected heavier fabric that would drape nicely and lining at least to the knee. Instead, the pants had the same thin, insubstantial fabric you get when you buy $40 slacks at a discounter."

Slightly below usual Orvis standard,
March 16, 2012
By: Ravi
from Leeds UK
"Needed a pair of grey warm trousers for work, I bought a pair from orvis about 6 years ago and have worn them to death. They were warm and fully lined and felt top quality, I can't begin to recall how many comments I had about them.
These were about the same price maybe a touch more and although they are OK, they are not in the same league as my old ones. They are not lined and the material feels thin and like it would tear if brushed against a stone wall. I will keep them as there is nothing else around at the moment but my gut feeling is they they are poor value for money and should be about half the price they are.

with reservations,
November 9, 2011
By: Bostonanon
from Boston, MA
"I ordered brown slacks but what I got is more orange. By Brown, I mean a rich chocolate brown. For reasons I cannot pin down, I do not think the slacks are perfectly fitted. One particular objection is that the side pockets flap out like wings when you sit down. Finally, I would prefer worsted or twill rather than this flannel. The most appealing feature is the "Comfort Waist". Overall, marginally acceptable for a trial order, but I will look elsewhere for future orders of wool slacks."

Merino wool Flannel Pants-Brown,
October 7, 2011
By: SteveJ
"Bought these flannel pants with an adjustable waist in brown. They feel great and look great. I've learned that when I need clothing to start with Orvis first. Its styles and colors and the great use of materials are stellar. I've shopped around in other stores, but always come back to Orvis for the purchase!"

Grey Slacks,
September 12, 2011
By: HUNTER30642
from Amelia Island, Florida
"I have been purchasing this same pair of slacks for several years now. This pair did not live up to my expectations. The button hole on the waist band is entirely too large and does not stay buttoned"
