"The pocket guide takes out a lot of guess work if you are new to the sport. The first section covers equipment and the second section covers techniques strategies. The last section covers specific fly recommendations for various seasons or weather patterns.A good read to get you started on the right path."

Review 2 for The Orvis Pocket Guide to Fly Fishing
Very good book for somebody new to fly fishing.,

"Lots of info about still water fishing. Sub-surface with weighted line to dry flies on the surface. What to use, when to use it and how to use it on your fly rod under different circumstances while fishing lakes and ponds. This book is not written like a college science text book. It is easy to read and flows along in a natural progression of topics. The writer has a nice style and comes across with a great deal of info for a late starter to fly fishing like me. I gave this book four stars, but probably should have given it five."
