Edible Christmas Birdhouse

These attractive, handcrafted birdhouses are completely covered in nutritious seeds and grains that will keep songbirds visiting all winter. When they have eaten it all, the functional birdhouse underneath is waiting for them to move in. Our log cabin house is covered with millet, milo berries. The chimney is made of hardware cloth and can be filled with sunflower seeds. Materials may vary slightly, depending on seasonal availability. Birdhouse 11"H x 7"W .

"Very pretty and well made; just be prepared if you have squirrels - and who doesn't. The first one found it within a half hour, and the feeder was stripped to bare wood by the next morning. The birds never had a chance!"

Bird's not interested,
January 1, 2013
By: ochre
from Julian, CA
"I ordered this and hung it from a tree. It's pretty, but it took a couple of weeks for any birds to notice it, and then only a few birds were interested. I suspect the seeds are very stale and/or they don't like the coloring on the seeds. If you only want this for it's looks, that works fine, but it's not for the birds."

Great idea...looks great...birds not sure,
October 19, 2012
By: Basketmaker
from North Carolina
"Love the idea, the house looks great, but so far the birds have not taken to it. Hopefully as winter in NC sets in, it'll become the place to be for the birds that hang around."

Great idea - quality problem,
December 5, 2011
By: KathyP
from Quincy, MA
"This edible bird house is a great idea however, it arrived with the chimney hanging from the roof of the bird house. Rather than send it back, my husband reattached it with gorilla glue. Not the best quality for the high price."

"What a cute way to feed birds and enjoy lighthouses. It's so much cooler than blocks of suet and attracts a lot of birds."

"The Lighthouse bird feeder I ordered showed it multi-colored and visually very impressive. The bird feeder I got instead was very plain and unimpressive. Save your money!"

"Overall I liked the birdhouse but I selected this house as a gift for a friend that just purchased a house and the coloring was perfect for the home. Unfortunately, the birdhouse was a plain brown and not the pretty pink and blue in the catalog that I ordered from. It was disappointing. Chickie"
