Perfect for any trip,
March 12, 2012

"My Safe Passage Carry-it-all Case has inspection stickers on it from all over the world. From Key West to Mongolia, it carries all of my rods and reels to all of my fishing destinations. I carry it on board planes, vehicles and boats, so my gear is safe. When someone asks me what they need for a rod or reel case, I point them straight to the Carry-it-all Case. The name says it all, and I personally recommend it as the best rod-and-reel case available.

Stylish and handy,

"I just received this for an upcoming trip this summer to Montana. Great for guides. Nice look to it I might add. Only drawback would be that st tight with rod tubes that are not exactly 31 inches, example, the Hydros rod tube which is discontinued does not fit in this pack. Those are great rods. Just barely fits a 9 foot rod tube with nothing to spare. Other than that if it meets your expectations for your tube, great. Another consideration is that I am not sure you cannusemths as a carry on in the plane's overhead luggage area due to restrictions in size so measure and call your carrier first. Hopefully will hold up to the gorillas who load the planes cargo area. They can be brutal."

"I purchased the larger for my 10' fly rods. I have the smaller for 9' bonr fish rods. I've taken it twice to Christmas Island. I keep all my rods, reels & flys with me all the time. It is easy to carry, sturdy, & fit in the overhead bins. Great product."

Can't Travel Without It!,
February 7, 2013
By: FlybumMedia

"This is my peace of mind bag. I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! I don't trust airlines or their baggage handlers at all. Too many horror stories to share. This bag carries every piece of gear I truly care about when I fly and helps me with peace of mind! All rods (11' and under), reels, and flies (minus the big hooks) travel in this bag. Other things like boga's, sunglasses, sun gloves, buff's, camera's, terminal tackle and on and on can go in this bag. AND...when it's full, I attach my spey rod tube (that is far too long to fit inside) to the handle on the top of the bag and pull the shoulder straps over the end of the rod tube at both ends and tighten it down. It makes it look integral to the bag and I'm never questioned by airlines personnel about carrying it on. I can't imagine ever traveling without it!!!"

Needs Improvement,
January 15, 2013
By: AKFlyer

"I have used this case on two separate overseas trips and have mixed concerns. On my last trip to South America, two airports did not allow me to carry the case on board. This was not a real concern because the case is very sturdy and survived the gate-check process without incident.
My complaint is that this case is very awkward to carry, especially if you are also carrying a backback. The shoulder pad does not move and stays in the middle position, making it hard to carry over your shoulder. When you try and carry the case over your shoulder, it wants to rotate so the larger bottom side rests against your back (as it should), but the attachment points on the end of the case fights this tendency.
If Orvis can fix this problem, this would be a nice case - until then, I will look for a better solution."

Super carry-it-all case,
January 2, 2013
By: Bergomi
from Oslo, Norway
"Good quality material and zippers that are easy to reach/grab, even with gloves. Sides are hard enough to withstand pressure. The case is splendid for up to 4 pcs of 9 fot rods and reels with spare spools, flyboxes and all the other spare stuff you (need) to carry for a fishing trip domestic or international. No more tubes and reel cases, carry it all in one. Thank you again Orvis."

"My gf bought me this for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for storing all of my fishing gear. I like that you're able to adjust the size of the compartments for your reels. This way they stay in there tight, and secure. This case is definitely going to make traveling with my gear a whole lot easier!"

Watch the size,

"Lucky for me I bought this at the Orvis store in Denver while on a fishing trip rather than on line as would in most cases. I wanted the case to hold my rods in their respective tubes. The clerk looked at the printed size info and assured me they would fit but said he would pull a tube from stock to verify. It wouldn't fit. I ended up buying the larger case to accommodate the rod tubes. I do LOVE the bag. It is perfect for my needs!!"

Essential for the traveling fly fisher,
November 15, 2012
By: DaveR49
from Des Moines IA
"My wife bought this for me as an early birthday present and I had an opportunity to use it for the first time this past weekend. All I can say why didn't I get one of these sooner?
Besides being very well constructed, I like having all my rods and reels and other essentials all together as opposed to carrying multiple rod tubes and reel cases. My wife made me a couple rod sacks to keep my rod pieces together and they fit nicely in the space provided. Not to mention being able to adjust the space designated for your reels, spare spools and extra fly boxes.
This case is a winner and every fly fisher should have one."

"I'm putting together all the gear that I'll need on a 9-river, 4-state, 6-week fly trip I'm planning for next summer. I'm taking 6 rods and my best 10 reels, along with a ton of flies, lines, leaders, etc., and I was looking for a big strong transport. One of my rods (my great-grandfather's 1907 Bristol), has unconventional dimentions and space requirements that only this case could handle. It safely packs away just about everything that I'm taking, and I'm sooooooooo grateful for that -- there's nothing worse than trying to lug around several smaller pieces of luggage, rod tubes, etc.. Thank you Orvis!"

"Great flexible case. Trip to west this allowed me to take everything I needed and plenty of spare space for backup. Light weight it travels well.
In tent at remote camp, it allowed me to regroup and get organized for next day as we went from location to location.
It is also ideal to ship to a site ahead of time and travels in box well

No Water!,
June 15, 2012
By: Revvie
from Lakewood, Colorado
"I have used my 30 incher for a long time and like it very much. It fits perfectly in the trunk of my MINI and keeps the mess organized for short trips to the mountains.
However, do not even think of using one of these in a boat or raft, convenient though that may seem. Any water that gets on the case seems to soak through instantaneously and just about everything in the case also gets wet. A "Gale Force" version would be most welcome as would "Gale Force" soft rod bags. As is obvious, I have had a lot of trouble with damp gear and have become rather sensitized!
I also agree with the other reviewers who have suggested end handles.

"Used this case to carry on gear for the Orvis Belize Bonanza and a few more trips since. Had no trouble carrying the bag on the plane. Fits in overhead nice. Put 8 rods in and stuffed it with clothes to make everything nice and tight inside. Outside pockets great for travel items. Fit ipad also for plane entertainment. Could fit 10 rods if needed."

Good Travel Case,
May 3, 2012
By: Orono
"The case holds 4 9' 4-piece rods, 4 reels and more, offering good protection. Just got back from el Pescador in Belize; never a problem with carrying it on the plane. My only beef: it needs handles on the ends, not just in the middle."
