"The shoe looked better in the catalog picture. Appeared they hadn't stained the shoe evenly. Did not like the laces. They looked cheap and came untied easily. One shoe fit fine but the other one was way too loose."

"I have had these for 2 weeks. They are clearly well-made with redundant stitching, a good vibram-like sole, and soft glove leather lining. The toe-box and distance across the metatarsal heads is narrow and these fit like a C not a D.
The shoe leather takes quite a bit of use to soften, so plan on using sparingly and protecting your own skin during break-in. The tight and attached interior footbed makes replacement with an orthotic impossible, and these do not provide much arch support.
These are boat shoe style but one would never wear black vibram-like soles on a boat because the grip is wrong and they would be prone to marking."

"A previous reviewer of these shoes criticised their quality. I have to disagree with him. They are extremely well-finished - comparable to Sperry Gold Cup Topsiders. However, at full price, I can't see where the price premium, over the Gold Cups, comes from."

"Quality of workmanship was excellent and the design should last many years with the method of attaching the sole to the body of the shoe. I have a sidilar design made from water buffalo and have worn then for over 30 years."
