"When I was first learning to fly fish, I tried to learn the nail knot. Tried the actual nail; tried the tube. Nothing worked.
Then I found this tool and haven't looked back. It's easy to use, and as long as you carefully wrap the backing around the tool, the nail knots come out perfectly every time.
Only other tip is to ensure that you maintain sufficient pressure on the fly line (thicker line) on the tool with your thumb so it doesn't slip while pulling the backing (thinner line) off the tool. That will ensure you get your perfect nail knot transferred over."

"As my father used to say... This thing is slicker than sliced bread!
I hated trying to tie a nail knot. The last time I needed one tied, I got one of the guys with me to tie it. Even then, it was a pain and time consuming. This little tool does it fast. I can tie a nail knot with this tool in the same amount of time as a clinch knot."

"I fish saltwater and always had trouble tying a small knot when joining fluorocarbon leader to braided super line. This basic tool makes it a snap. My first practice turned out perfectly and it is particularly handy when retying out on the water in the wind. Small price, big results!"

"I bought the Fast-Knot tool and just LOVE it. I don't use it often but when I did use it, it did exactly what it was supposed to do - and then some! I was fly fishing the Flats of Belize and hooked a really big Tarpon - he got into deep water and nearly spooled me. I had to re-rig my fly line and the Fast-Knot allowed me to tie a Nail Knot in under 30 seconds - it's AWESOME!"
