"I tie a lot of zebra midges. A LOT. This wire is perfect for ribbing of any kind or on any size hook. I also tie a lot of elk hair caddis' and this id perfect for the ribbing. Great stuff."

"Wapsi makes a lot of great products and this one really shines as a must have for fly tyers. I tie mostly midges and you can get this wire in several sizes right down to a "midge" size that adds a minimal amount of build up to maintain slim bodies. With a huge selection of very vivid colors. Highly recommended."

"I recently received various spools of ultra wire xsmall small and medium. The product itself is excellent for tying and ribbing flies.
My only gripe is that the small olive spool is nearly half empty. I can see the spool under some of the coils. I'm not sure if it was the end spool or a return. The other spools are all full to the brim."

"Not a product I would buy again, as there are other products that do the same thing and better, mine turned up completely unravelled and broken in three inch pieces, obviously a manufacturing problem, But the point is someone let it go out like it when you couldn't help but see it was damaged, I have fallen out with Orvis over this and will probaly go else wear in future, I think Orvis should take a look at there Quality control"

"Wire is a must have in several sizes and colors, and Ultra wire is an excellent choice. This purchase rounded out my basic set of colors: chartreuse, red, olive, copper, silver, black, gold. In three sizes br (brassie), small, and extra small. Most tiers may need medium too. I tie mostly size 12 to 24. I wish I could get brown, but have not been able to find it in stock."

"I just started tying flies a few months ago, and came across this in my local Orvis store. I bought some and started using it as ribbing on Hare's Ear nymphs and Wooly Worms, Wooly Buggers and Brassies. It is easy to use and looks great on the fly. It is easier to use than tinsel. The small size wire is appropriate for flies 14 to 18, the medium size wire for size 12 flies and lower."

"Just what I needed, the wires are great colours,strong and help in getting the right balance on the fly. With the organiser it has really helped me to keep my bench a bit tidier, as when I normally tie I cut a bit and leave the spool on the desk; with this you pull off, snip and use what you need, the rest goes back in the slot.
Very happy."

"I bought this specifically to tie some Brassies for the first time this season. My flies looked great and I gave away a bunch of them to my friends as gifts. The wire is very strong and durable, but easy to wind around the hook. It has a nice shine for a little added attraction. The brassie size is obviously the ideal size for those flies. But after experimenting with the other sizes, there are all sorts of uses for them, from ribbing in smaller nymphs to wider diameter uses stoneflies and interesting bugger patterns. All in all, a very good price. I didn't get the assortment, I just picked some random colors and sizes to experiment with, but in the future I'll probably get the whole assortment to complete my collection."

"When I first received the item i was lead to believe that I was going to get different sizes of wire for each color. But I have gotten all brassie sizes which made me more excited to start some flies. So for all those debating one getting it you know what your in for.
