"I bought a custom pair of these upland boots, and they have been fantastic. Like my other Gokeys, they keep getting better with time. Now that I have a few seasons in these, they've become as trusty as my over and under. They just feel right."

Love These Boots,

"I have worn custom Gokey footwear since 1972, starting with the Snake Boot. Since then I have added all of the custom line. The fit, finish, and materials used are excellent. The service is outstanding also. Since Orvis purchased Gokey numerous upgrades to the boots have been made, namely the pebbled bullhide leather, the laces, the new inner cushion foot bed and the general finish quality. It is an outstanding product that is very comfortable, good looking and it can take all kinds of abuse and still last decades if taken care of. They are not always waterproof (some pairs and styles are more so than others) but in most circumstances are better (cooler & more comfortable) because of it. If the day's activities are going to include wading in water, you might want to choose something designed for that specifically. I have worn them on lengthy and difficult winter hiking and trekking adventures in the snow (that often required attached steel cleats) and never had any problems with moisture coming in. My feet did not get cold or sweat excessively like they often do in gore-tex boots that don't breathe very well. You will love these boots, but beware because you will end up wanting to wear them everywhere. That is why I had a second pair made 7" high, so I could do just that. If you really want them to be the best, ask for a leather mid-sole and provide them with a Vibram 100 (heavy cleat) outer soles and heels to use. This upgrade is well worth the time and expense it takes for you to go to your local cobbler and purchase the soles and heels. Send them to Orvis/Gokey with your measurements."

"All I can say is WOW! If you own a pair of these that are old, you will not believe how comfortable these new ones are. They now have a buttery soft leather liner and a poron cushion under the leather liner. It really makes all the difference in the word."
