Disappointing,
March 25, 2013
By: Smokeight
from Fayetteville, AR
"I was initially pleased with the liner when I put it on separately from the coat. But, while it zips nicely up each side, all that holds the entire upper part of the vest to the coat is one dinky snap at the collar. So when you put the coat on with the vest inside, the sleeve areas are falling down making it a real pain to get your arms in the vest and the coat. This is a fault of the Barbour design and no fault of Orvis but the designers need to get their heads back together on this one. It's a dud!"

why no sleeves?,
March 4, 2013
By: cappydc

"I gave this liner 5 stars because it seems to be of high quality. However, I have to disagree with reviewers who say that this liner will make a Barbour coat warm enough for winter. I zipped this liner into a Barbour Gamefair coat and walked outside on a cold day. True, my "core" was warm, but--since the sleeves of the coat have virtually no insulation and this is only a vest--my arms were freezing cold in short order! True, you could wear a couple of warm sweaters under the coat, but then why would you need the vest? I suggest that Barbour should make liners with sleeves, to make their products truly capable of standing up to winter cold."

"I purchased a XL vest and returned it for a large size. The XL was a little to big and loose.
I use the the vest daily by itself.
The vest is warm and light.

Warm and cozy,

By: BabsiK

"I didn't realize when I purchased a Barbour coat for my husband in London that it needed a liner for our cold Pennsylvania winters. I was thrilled to be able to buy the liner here in the US from a store I've come to depend on for great travel clothes. The salesman steered me to the correct liner, and it arrived quickly and fits perfectly. My husband is warm and dry, and I'm pleased that his new coat will be worn all winter long."

Great vest,

"This is a terrific vest to layer. It's not bulky and fits well under an overcoat. It has quality zippers, lining and edging on the pockets. My husband has been wearing it nearly every other day since he opened it on Christmas day."

Nice Vest,
December 29, 2012
By: nke294
from Cleveland, OH
"Very well made vest. It is s a wee bit longer than my other vests, but the size I got fit perfectly. Even though this is a mens vest I got it to fit in my Barbour jacket (size 36) and it fits perfectly. I would definitely recommend it. It makes the jacket very warm, and also is very nice to wear it on its own."

"This vest was very warm and fit well under my jacket. I can wear this with or without the jacket. It does run a little large but I ordered a large and it was the appropriate size, since I have broad shoulders/back."

Not well designed,
November 18, 2012
By: cib68
from brecksville, ohio
"The liner is quality but it does not fit the jacket the one snap over the neck area allows makes it a pain to put on and stay in place. Hoped the lined would extend the jacket into the colder northern ohio months.
Best liner is a polar tech full jacket.

A new favorite, small change.,
February 27, 2012
By: Cardo
"I purchased the classic tartan nylon liner which zips into the Bedale jacket. The design is exactly like the polar quilt waist coat but has cotton instead of fleece. The fleece liner and the jacket were too warm. If I need more warmth, I'd wear a sweater and leave the liner out of the jacket. The two front liner pockets are deep providing ample and safe storage. I would add an internal breast pocket to the liner. When the liner is zipped into the jacket it hides the internal breast pocket of the Bedale. While the liner is not touted as a shooting vest, I can see with its clean lines, fitted cut and deep external pockets, it might work in a pinch."

"The zip-in waistcoat is great for cold weather protection around the body, while leaving the arms free of bunching up in the sleeves."
