Master fly tier Gary Martineau, a former research biologist for Vermont Fish & Wildlife, says he tried to create a big fly that retained buggy qualities: "To achieve all this, I use a slightly bent hook to give the fly the curvature a natural has when drifting in the water. A weighted underbody helps add to the flat appearance but more importantly gets the fly sinking as soon as it hits the water, while the natural muskrat dubbing and grizzly hackle allow the nymph to drift like a natural." In brown. Size: 4.

"I love this fly it gets a trouts attention right a way. You need aleast two in your tackle for every trip. The only thing I dont like about this fly is the sizes it comes in #4 only, if orvis could offer this fly in a #10 or #12 it would be all that I nymph fished with its that good.."
