Great bed—Excellent Customer Service!!,

"I recently purchased one of these great smelling beds for our dog. We had a problem with the zipper and after writing a review a Orvis rep contacted me and offered to replace the cover free of charge. We love this product, it smells great and our dog adores the bed/nest, he literally leaps into it. We were a little bothered when the zipper broke but the Orvis customer service folks were on top of it so quickly, we're thrilled! This is why we purchase from Orvis, great products, extraordinary customer service! Thank you Orvis."

High Quality Doggy Bed,

"This dog bed is very high quality. Any dog who receives this is one lucky dog! The cover is very nice, suede-like. It looks nice in the family room, not an eye- sore. Most importantly, the dog loves it. We ordered the large sized nest for our 60lb labradoodle, and she has room to spare."

"I love the Orvis Dog's Nest! I have one on every level of my home. It's very durable and stands up to my dogs wear and tear. The zip off cover is easy to launder and looks great even after repeated washings. No more buying new beds every other year! This one stands the test of time."

"We've used the bead-filled beds for our english setters for over 20 years and they love them from the time they are puppies until they leave us. The beds never get lumpy and the beads do not hold odors. For those who find the bead-filled bed too hard at first, just remove some of the beads. My only complaint and the reason my rating is not a five is the cover. The new microfiber covers are very sturdy and our young male has not chewed through it but they do collect their fine long hair and even washing and drying does not remove it all. I prefer the old canvas for looks and practicality."

"This bed looks fabulous and seems to be made of high quality materials. The beaded/cedar stuffing, however, has not worked for my 80 pound pup. When he steps on the bed the beads disperse away from where he stepped - making an extreme high/low area. When he then trys to lie down he is perched on a high spot. There is no way for him to create a nest - just a perch. Thus, he spends about 2 minutes on the bed then heads back to the rug. When I opened the bed to remove some of the beads to add more wood shavings, thinking this would help, there was very, very, very little cedar inside."

"Got the bed for my 15 yr old fox terrier 2 months ago. It appears it will hold up well. I wash the cover weekly; it has remained soft, sized, and in tact. The bed goes back and forth between our house and his "Nanny's" house almost weekly for his overnight stays when we work out of town. She says he sleeps on it every night and takes every nap on it; which at 15 there are alot of naps, and so far the cedar has kept away any odor. At home he prefers the couch, we think for the height. But we've found if his bed is on the couch or ottoman he will choose it over the throw pillows, a plus for containing the hair. The beads make it flexible enough to fit on the couch, and allow him to prepare a proper nest. Very happy with the purchase."

"My black lab mix Grammer is 14. I wanted to get her a special bed & thought she would like the beads. She has lost muscle mass in her back legs & I wondered if the beads would be hard for her to grip since she circles around as she nests into the bed. The beads seem to make it easier for her to grip. She loves the bed. Before she gets in her bed at night, I fluff up the bed to redistribute the beads evenly & then she curls up in the bed. I am so happy I made the purchase for her. She deserves to be spoiled. I am thinking of ordering another one for the great room. I ordered the tartan plaid in the red and it is very attractive."

"This bed looks great! I got the paisley cover and it's actually really subtle and looks a lot nicer than cheaper beds you see in the pet stores. Got the XL and it's a great size for our 55lb shepherd because she can curl up or stretch out and she's still on the bed.
However, Taboo is older (11-12 - she's a shelter dog, so we're not entirely sure) and it's very difficult for her to walk on - she seems comfy when she's sleeping, but she likes to walk in circles before she lays down and her legs start wobbling when she's walking on the bed - most often she just walks off and lays next to it because she can't move easily.
My hubby and I tried walking on it and each almost fell - she's right, it's like quicksand! It's not as pliable as you might expect beads to be, actually almost hard. We bought it because she likes to dig and nest, which she tried to do a couple times, but she's obviously not comfortable - would be much better for a younger, more energetic puppy/dog. At this point in Taboo's life, we're going with the polyester fill that's more like a pillow/bed.
**Called the customer service line and told them the problem and the girl was wonderful! She was more than willing to work with me to get a new bed quickly that Taboo would be happy with - thank you!!"
