Merino/Cashmere Donegal Sweater
Donegal was originally a thick and warm homespun or tweed woven by Irish peasants in Donegal, Ireland. Donegal now describes wool tweed that has colorful irregularities knit into the fabric. The cashmere adds warmth and a softer hand to the traditional wool. Fully fashioned wool cashmere sweater with a suede tab throat latch and suede trim inside the mechanic-style placket. Rib hem and cuff. In olive. Merino wool/cashmere. Dry clean. Imported.Sizes: S(34-36), M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52).

"The density was just perfect, not a bulky sweater, but thick enough to fit under most coats. Warm and I love the placket neck look. Fit was a perfect large for my 185 pound, six foot frame. Really a good purchase"

"Ordered this and it came well within a week. While the tag said XXL (what I ordered), the actual size was about a Med. Took it to my local Orvis and they were fantastic with the return and re-ordering. I love those guys. Got the right sized (XXL) sweater within a week, and put it on straight away. It is SO comfortable & well made...very soft, warm but not bulky, and just down right classy. I've gotten loads of complements. Worth every penny...it's an Orvis!"

"I'm a 25-year-old male. My girlfriend's family bought this sweater for me as a gift and in my correct size (small). It fit like a medium, with long sleeves and long length, and was baggy to boot. I was able to have the sweater tailored and now it fits fine, however, younger guys be warned: this is a large, traditional-fitting sweater-- if you're a medium, definitely size down. Orvis should make a slimmer, more modern cut. Otherwise, the quality of the sweater is superb."

"I called to check sizing and was told it was as advertised. What I received was what I ordered - a medium - but fit like a large. Perhaps most Orvis customers are heavier than I but in any event the sweater was far too wide and long. Cerrtainly not a young or slim fit. Very disappointing."

"This sweater is very warm. I have taken it on very cold trips and have not needed a jacket. It is difficult to see in the online picture, but this is not a purely green sweater. It fits very well."

"Out of all the mid weight wool sweaters that there are to choose from, I was lucky to get one that I have to brag on. Great fit, great style and quite warm. I am 6'2 and weigh 195. I ordered an XL. I wore it the first day with a long sleeve t-shirt, and the second time with a button down flannel shirt. It fit well with both. The buttons seem secure, the sleeves are plenty long enough, and the overall quality impressed me. This is the first time that I have ordered from Orvis. If you've read this far, you can bet that I'll order again."

"My brother-in-law adores Orvis clothes. I selected the cashmere donegal sweater as a Christmas gift for him. He went crazy when he pulled it out of the box. The cashmere felt and looked yummy, and I liked the leather closure at the neck. He put it on immediately and didn't take it off. He loves it."

"What a great find! After scouring many web sites looking for the right sweater I could wear to work, out on the town or aroudn the house, this classic, soft warm sweater has fine leather in the collar and looks great. I normally wear a medium (38 regular or 38 slim), ordered a medium and it fits perfectly. Very pleased and looking forward to more Orvis sweaters."

"Used this sweater upland hunting in 20 degree weather this week and really liked it. I just converted to Orvis recently. Only complaint is I bought in online and a few days later visited my first Orvis retail store and found it 1/2 the price. Emailed customer service but learned prices aren't connected. So with this exception, it is nice quality."

"I gave the Donegal Sweater to my son for Christmas, he is tall and thin and prefers sweaters that are not boxy. This was just right, he was pleased with the fit, the fabric, the color. The only aspect of the garment he did not care for was the leather button flap on the collar, otherwise it gets his best rating."
