LePage Tunghead Hare's Ear
Jim LePage, Vice President of Orvis Rod and Tackle, has been fly fishing all his life and tying flies since childhood. His thorax bead nymphs are legendary in their productivity and this weighted tungsten bead design of the Hare's Ear nymph is one of the best. This nymph can be used almost anywhere for any mayfly species. Tungsten bead gets it down quickly to the feeding zone. Color, Natural. Nymphs available in sizes: 12, 14, 16.

"I've been tying flies like these for years, and find that the bead in the thorax rather than at the head makes the nymph swim more naturally and adds flash in a more natural position (looks like air bubbles trapped in the thorax), and is an overall improvement over the traditional beadhead."

"This fly gets down fast! Recently fished it in seams and heavy water on the Rapid River in Maine and did very well. This fly is my "go to" nymph - a great product."
