The keys to this fly are the polar fiber tail that moves naturally unlike any other synthetic, a weighted hook that gets this bushy pattern down quick and in the feeding lane, and the hot pink fluorofiber throat that changes color in the light and drives fish nuts. All in all a spectacular and productive big baitfish fly for fishing stripers and other saltwater fish. In chartreuse/white.Sizes 2 (2½"), 2/0 (3½"). Length 2½", 3½", 4".

IGFA 20# Tippet WR Spotted Bass
"Fishing a Chartreuse/White Cowen's Baitfish pattern for striper on Lake Sidney Lanier in GA, I hooked into what I thought was an average sized striper based on the way the fish was digging to the bottom. After a good fight, the image of a large spotted bass started to rise to the surface. Long story short, it was the new 20# tippet IGFA World record for spotted bass on the fly; validated in early September. Needless to say, I highly recommend this pattern to anyone looking for a great baitfish imitation. You never know, you just might catch a new World Record."

"Caught a great northern pike - 42.5" - on this fly in Saskatchewan. The fish rejected my son's jerk-bait, but followed my Cowen's baitfish fly for only a short distance before engulfing it."

"My favorite striper fly when the big ones are eating the gizzard shad. Try the Cowen's Coyote when imitating the herring..…"
