"I was very surprised that the buckle was only secured by what appeared to be rough cream plastic string.I fully expected that the belt would be folded over the buckle shank and finished with proper stitching, not what looks like a short cut cheap compromise."

"This is one of the "better than expected " purchases. The leather is very pliable yet thick and heavy. The clasp is easy to engage and disengage. I wear blue jeans all the time and this belt goes perfect with them.
I have never bought the same model belt twice but I will make an exception when this belt eventually wears out."

"If I had paid attention to the photo of the belt I would have realized that it didn't have a keeper....the little piece of leather that holds the excess belt after it goes through the buckle. What happens is that over time the excess starts to curl and looks sloppy of catches on things. I was a little disappointed in the size of the buckle as well."

"The quality of this belt is way below the usual Orvis standard. The buckle is attached to the leather strap only by thin white string that looks like dental floss and is visible when the belt is worn. Also, I followed the recommendation to order one size larger, and it's too large. It arrived today and is going back tomorrow."

"Your description ends with "Imported" I didn't like seeing an Orvis (first class company) product made in China. There are so many other countries in our hemisphere from Canada to Argentina that make great leather products."

"Hard to find a "classic" leather belt and buckle like this nowadays. I like the combination of width and suppleness of the leather for wearing with my jeans and khakis.
The one nit I have with the belt as-delivered is the white fiber (polyester? waxed cotton?) that is used for securing the buckle. The white thread stands out as being visible up close when wearing the belt, and I think this is a distracting visual element to the overall look for the belt. I corrected this deficiency by VERY CAREFULLY applying a little bit of brown shoe polish just to the threading and then giving it a quick polish with a brush. Now the belt is entirely satisfactory to my specifications! (Wish Orvis had just used a dark brown thread at the factory, rather than using standout white. This would have avoided the need for my "user setup".)"

"I have worn this belt practically every day for 2 years under 1,000 conditions and it is still holding strong. I work in vineyards and regularly have 2 or 3 tools clipped to it and the belt has yet to lose shape like SO many others do.
This belt works and looks great for jeans, khakis, field work, hunting, business casual, and weekends. I will admit it does not come shipped as "worn" as the picture makes it seem. So you will have to put some wear and tear on it to get the "fashionable" look in the picture. But the point of quality and durable products is to make your own mark on them, right?"

"This belt has soft texture and a great looking buckle. It was everything I had expected EXCEPT that it is sewn together at the buckle with what looks like white floss, which is visible when the belt is worn. For the price, the buckle should have been afixed by riveting the leather together far enough away from the buckle to allow it to lay flat. Very disappointing."
