Crane Fly Adult

Crane flies are widespread insects, living anywhere from humid, tropical climates to arid, high-elevation plains. Often overlooked by fly anglers, crane flies can often turn an otherwise slow fishing day into a veritable bonanza, and hatch in large numbers the day after a rain. The next time rain washes you off a stream, hit the water once the rain stops, and be sure to have a Crane Fly Adult tied to your line. Sizes 10, 12, 14.

"Big beautiful Crane Flies make a tasty mouthful to western trout and I've stocked up in preparation for a 6-week trip to Utah, Idaho and Yellowstone next Summer. Can't wait to start splashing down these long-legged showgirl stars and causing a bit of fish havoc."
