Lose the floatant on this excellent traditional elk wing caddis fly pattern with a foam body to keep it on top of the water and riding high. A great fly pattern for skittering when caddis are in the air. Color tan. Sizes: 12, 14, 16.

"This fly is a great fly for catching upstate NY brown trout....when it floats. I purchased 6 flies total, in sizes 12 and 14. The appearance of these guys when on the water is amazing, the legs give a little wiggle and it certainly attracts the fish, until it sinks. Expect about 10-15 minutes of fishing with this fly until it becomes saturated, then tie on the next and so forth, but this beomes old. Expect about 5 minutes if using a dropper. This is very disappointing and surprising as the body is wrapped closed cell foam."
