Beetles often have a green or blue sheen to the harder upper body and this new terrestrial beetle fly pattern offers a bit of flash and rubber legs for a real buggy look. Terrestrials are an excellent choice particularly in mid to late summer when the hatches are diminished, but the trout still have to eat to live. A terrestrial pattern, particularly one this good is a sure bet when the wind is up and there are grassy banks to fish. Terrestrial fly pattern in black. In sizes: 10, 12, 14.

"This did very well with smallmouth and bluegill. Still wanting to try it out on some rainbows."
"I bought this fly for my son to use on pan fish. It is a good pattern that the gills seem to like. My complaint is for a foam beetle, it doesn't seem to float all that well. It becomes water logged and will sink just below the water surface. It has ice chanille or something under the foam that seems to allow water to get trapped under the foam adding weight to the fly. Because it has been a good pattern, I will likely tie something similar and wrap the hook with some foam adding to the buoyancy of the fly. Floatant works too, but not quite as well as I'd like it to. It also just seems you shouldn't have to use it with a foam fly."

"The psycho billy beatle came through with a 12" brookie that was ignoring a variety of offerings from my fly box. Give it a try."

"Unreal, this is a standout fly for Bass and Trout. I am in Colorado and a good bit from rivers so this is an awesome fly for lakes and ponds, can't say enough."
