This is not fly fishing heresy. The fact is trout eat worms and not just the ones we fish with. Worms exist in the stream and imitating a worm with artificial patterns is no different than imitating an insect. If it works, use it. Trout fishing worm pattern in red. In size: 8.

"I agree with the other reviewers on this product. It does not last long at all. I fish a quarry which is infested with zebra mussels so the water is crystal clear. I tossed one of these out and watched a small bass, I mean small bass tear the worm in half. No I didn't catch it, it went after the worm, not the hook. I bought 2 of these and they both fell apart. On the upside, I had some nice hooks, and since I started tying flies, the hooks came in handy and were used to tie one of my first flies."
"The Shaky Worm is a multi species lure. I have caught bass, trout, panfish, crappie and hooked a large carp, with my Orvis Superfine Touch. The carp still has possession of the Shaky Worm, but I a still surprised at the variety of fish caught with the Shaky Worm."

"I think the reviewers are correct about the durability of this fly but the fact is it catches trout. I have caught trout on this when they were not taking any traditional pattern such as eggs and etc."

Great for attracting fish, but is easily destroyed,

"DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! I have now purchased this fly twice. The first fly snagged a fairly large trout on my second cast, but when I got the fish in hand, the worm was missing sans the hook itself. I bought a second fly thinking that the durability of the first one was a fluke, but again, the very first fish I caught, which was a 4" baby sunny, had also destroyed the fly. At least I got a good 3 minutes of fun total with my money."

"I saw that another reviewer caught fifty fish on one of these. My experience is that bream and crappie like this fly, but that it tears easily. I am averaging two fish before the fly is destroyed. It may be different for trout fishing."

"Unmatched natural movement in the water. This THE new fly as a searching nymph. It is also tough. Have caught well over 50 fish a day on one fly."
