One of the most important food sources in summer months is the huge family of terrestrials. In some small streams they account for the majority of the trout's food and most of these are some type of beetle. Don't go fishing in summer months without a terrestrial selection and make sure it has a number of foam beetles, including this great fly pattern. Color, Black/Red, Black/Yellow. black/red; size 10. black/yellow; sizes 10, 14.

Review 2 for Bank Beetle

"This is a go to fly for most fly fisherman here in Kentucky. I usually tie my own flies but when it comes to the "Bank Beetle" I always let Orvis do the work. It's almost like they wrap kevlar around these flies because they are so durable."
"The bank beetle is a great flie for late summer it does'nt produce greatly but the ones it does are very good sized. I was fishing the Davidson river in North Carolina ( voted one of the best trout streams in North America) and hoooked a huge one but did not get it in."
