Flashback Hares Ear Nymph
Sometimes even the best pattern isn't enough and a trout needs a little more incentive to strike. Adding a bit of flash can be the difference between no fish and consistent strikes on a given day. Make sure there are a couple of these Flashback flies in the appropriate sizes in the Hare's ear section of your fly box. Color, Hare's Ear. Flashback fly available in sizes: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18.

"A must have in any trout box for prospecting water where no hatch is happening.

"As luck would have it, I forgot my nymph box at home during one of my frequent excursions to the Beaverkill River in Roscoe, NY. Never used the flashback hare's ear before, but I figured I'd buy a couple to try out. I tie all my own flies, and had almost exclusively fished the more traditional hare's ear, so this was a big leap for me. It turned to be the only fly that garnered any fish for me that weekend. The extra flash seems to draw the attention of fish, especially in faster flowing, murky waters. I have now tied my own and have a steady grouping of them in my nymph box Next year, I'll be trying the difficult to tie Czech versions. This flashback hare's ear is a must for anyone's nymph box!"

"This fly is an excellent fly to use when there is any caddis or mayfly hatch. In the month of may when using this fly its not uncommon for your arm to get worn out. Also, be sure to order as many as possible as the FB Hare's ear will get abused rather quickly. On the swing, expect violent Tommy John Surgery inducing strikes."
