Zonker
This is just a big ugly, moving classic streamer fly pattern that has been around for years and given its mass and movement is a favorite to draw big strikes in big water. Never fish a big river without a Zonker. Size: 4, 6, 8.

"This is my favorite in size 4 and 6, colors olive or black for fall night wading for Walleyes. As trout season winds down, I'm enjoy some late season action using s-l-o-w & long strips. You have to pay close attention. You won't feel any hit...just a heavy weight. I prefer a floating Bass Wonderline with the 9' Mirage Big Game tapered leader. Sometimes they even take it with a little splash due to the fly riding just under the surface. Exciting fishing!"

"Size 8 Pearl Zonker is my go to fly for fall and winter fishing on the Weber. Lunkers love it and dinks leave it alone."

"I was fly fishing in the Truckee River. I threw the zonker out once and immediately, a giant brown grabbed it. It nearly pulled the rod right out of my hands- it was a 9 pounder. Also, I'm only 13."

"Catches rainbows in CA., brookies in UT. good all around lake fishing fly. Sinks well, even on a floating line set up. Looks good too."

"This is a great fly for parts of the Muskegon River and the White River in Michigan. Toss it near underbrush, and strip line very fast to weed out big browns!"
