Zug Bug

The Zug Bug nymph pattern was invented by Cliff Zug as a caddis fly imitation, and while it works well for that purpose it also works well in any number of situations as a prospector, dropper, and even as a wet fly on the swing. Easily one of the top 10 nymph fly patterns of all time. Color, Multi.Sizes: 10, 12, 14, 16.

Zug Bug Best,

"Any trout fly with peacock herl and sword is going to be attractive at some season of the year. The Zug Bug is a great imitator of caddis, stone and other aquatic invertebrates. All of these critters are in the trout diet and include in the early spring the water boatman and backswimmer beetles. I have used the Zug Bug to hook rainbows by sight fishing as the shallows of the lakes warm early in March. The flash and color of the Zug Bug really get the attention of cruising fish."

"The zug bug is the underwater version of the Royal Wulf. It just catches trout."
