Prince Nymph

Easily ranked one of the top 10 fly fishing nymphs of all time along with the Hare's Ear, the Zug Bug, and the Pheasant Tail. Very well-defined profile is unmistakable and fish take it with abandon. Generally used in fast water as a stonefly imitation, these nymphs are an attractor that can draw strikes anywhere and can be used in warm-water as well. Color, Peacock. Sizes: 8, 10, 12, 14, 16.

Well tied and durable,

"The prince is one of the only flies I buy rather than tie myself because these are so well tied and durable compared to my own where I have trouble getting the biots to look neat. I use it as a trailer behind a heavy beadhead for the best results, especially where there are stoneflies in the water but even as a general searching pattern."

Best Fly for Brook Trout,
August 26, 2014
By: VinceP

"Unbelievable success with the Prince Nymph while fishing Colorado Lakes for Native, Cutthroat and Brook trout. A Strike or Hook Up on nearly every cast...so good that I went in the lake to unhook my last one from a log one day! Time to order a Dozen!"

"This fly always produces well on North Lake, Colorado, where nine species of trout and salmon are present. Conditions there are often very windy, and this fly has excellent visibility."

"I am in agreement with all opinions stated so far in the review section. It is the everything, anytime, anywhere bug. It supercedes catergories. In fact ,I have a friend in central colorado who fishes nothing but this fly. And in the thirty years I have fished with him he has rarely not caught a fish. I make a regular contibutions to his prince stash on his birthday in May just before the start of the season. If it is not a prince he will give them back. He once got them from a man he worked with who called them the Eagle river special. If you can take credit for that bug, good luck."

Excellent all around nymph,
March 2, 2008
By: CSM16

"I used this nymph from May - September and consistently caught fish with it. And QUALITY fish. I had one day in July where the top water bite was off and it was 100% nymphing. I caught 8 fish that day. The two I caught with the Prince were 15" rainbows. This is my "go to" nymph...usually size 12-14."
