4-in-1 Multi-Tip River System

Get versatility and line control in a 4-in-1 multi-tip system made for river fishing. Attach any one of the four tips, from floating to sinking for any type of fishing situation you face. No need to keep different reels on hand. Great for fishing big rivers in Alaska, Tierra del Fuego, the western United States, or any other rivers where you may want to change up depths fast without having to swap out reels or spools. The tapered section of floating line shoots like a bullet and turns over the interchangeable tips with the precision of a full fly line. The system features a stiff, non-hinging loop connection between line and tip sections. Visit orvis.com for taper chart. 15' fly-line tip sections include floating, clear intermediate, Class III sinking (3½" to 4½"/second), and Class VI sinking (6½" to 7½"/second). Overall length: 100'. Line weights 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Packed in a leader wallet. USA.

"I love the idea of this system, however, in my opinion, there should have put a loop on both ends of the line!"

"I have been using a 6wt version of this multi-tip line for a couple of years now. It is great for travelling light - you dont have to carry replacement spools. I reduced the length of the floating tip to reduce the problem of having the joint pass through the tip eye so often - this helps but this is till the biggest challenge with these lines - the joint does not run smoothly through the rod eyes. I am not keen to shorten the sinking tips, because this would compromise depth. But overall I really like the concept and the quality of the Orvis product."

Separate spools are better,

"I was intrigued by the possibility of simply switching short sections for various fishing conditions, but I found that I was not happy with the performance of this product. The major problem was that the point where the two loops linked the heads to the running line invariably hung on the tip and the individual stripping guides - this made for a VERY jerky retrieve, and, unfortunately, the connection was almost exactly at the typical casting distance for rivers here in Colorado – perhaps if the switchable sections were between 40 and 50 feet, it would cause fewer problems. I decided to purchase spare spools for each of my reels and load them with floating and sinking tip lines."

"Decided to switch to the 4 in 1 Multi-Tip system for my 7 wt. Helios/B-Kill LA III before my annual trip to the Kenai in August. Both the floating and sinking tips exceeded my expectations and I never took any of my other gear out of their case for the Kenai or the smaller streams we fished for Chum and Pinks.
Back in Atlanta, I'm using it for largemouth bass. Much easier to change tips than reels from a float tube.
I'm hooked!
