Big trout and Dolly Varden live for spawning season. Their lives become one big festival of eating before the winter closes in and their absolute favorite food is the eggs of spawning salmon. When the rivers are red with spawning sockeye, this glow bug fly pattern--swung underneath and behind the spawners--is as guaranteed as fishing can be. In chartreuse; sizes 12, 14. Orange, peach, pink; sizes 8, 10, 12, 14.

Review 1 for Egg Fly
February 11, 2014
"I fished this egg with a CJ Nymph dropper. In two hours of fishing, I netted 3 14" to 18" rainbows and 2 over 18". The combo was great!"
"As has been my experience with all of Orvis' flies, this is well tied and fairly robust/rugged. Excellent egg imitation."

Elk Creek Steelhead
"I caught a beautiful Great Lake Steelhead shortly after I tied one of these Orvis egg flies on. I used the egg fly on a 9 ft. / 4X fluorocarbon Orvis leader I had purchased at the same time. Orvis flys are top quality and better than what I can tie myself ."
"For anyone who fishes salmon and steelhead, this is the "go to" fly for the fall and spring runs. I keep a full C&F box (4 pages) of eggs in a variety of sizes and colors. I oten include an 18" dropper with either another egg of a different size/color or a nymph."

Review 5 for Egg Fly
One of the best steelhead and salmon flies,
November 1, 2008
"I fish on the grand river here in michigan and this fly works very well for both steelhead, lake run brown trout, and all salmon. My best colors are pink, orange, and chartreuse. In the fall you absolutely can't go wrong with this fly when salmon are on their spawning run."
