Yellow Sallies (Isoperla) are smaller stoneflies that are common in many streams across the country. They are smaller than most stones and often come off unexpectedly when other mayflies are hatching, and thus they are often overlooked. A common indication is the red butt on the fly. The Yellow Sally is a very effective fly and often the start to a great day when the fish are keyed in on them. Color, Natural.Sizes: 14, 16, 18.

Great Upstate New York Dry Fly,
August 29, 2014
from Finger Lakes Region, NY
"This dry fly is a very versatile fly. I'd call it a 'must have' for anyone fishing during the fall season in upstate New York. I've had anything from Sunfish to Spotted Browns bite on this pattern, and I constantly carry at least one with me."

Great lloking flies,
June 11, 2013
from Saylorsburg, PA
"I used these in lieu of ducking and chucking on a small freestone stream yesterday while the water was high and fast. I got three nice brookies and missed a number of other strikes. These small yellow stoneflies have been coming off for weeks now and I have yet catch anything on small golden stone nymphs. On the way out I passed four guys that were swinging wooly buggers all afternoon with little success. I have a new go-to pattern on slow days. Thanks."

good all around fly,
June 5, 2013
from Bozeman MT
"I used this fly all day in Yellowstone and caught a ton of fish. The fly was durable and intact all day."
"I was fortunate enough to be on an area stream when natural yellow sallies started showing up. I tied this fly on in size 16 and had great results. If you fish a watershed where these little beauties show up, you must have a few of these in your fly box. Great fly!"
