Borski Bonefish Slider

Tim Borski is not only a great fly tier, but an accomplished artist as well. He lives in Islamorada and spends his time on the water gathering inspiration not only for his art, but for his well-respected fly patterns. This little flats slider has a deer hair head to push water and an excellent tiny baitfish profile to entice bonefish to eat. These flies are excellent patterns from one of the master tiers of the tropical flats. In natural. Flies available in sizes: 4, 6, 8.

"The Borskis Bonefish Slider may have the word Bonefish in it but I have been using it for quite some time for Trout, Red fish, Snook, Black sea Bass, Mackerel,Flounder, Ladyfish, etc. even good in fresh water, usually in size 4. Similar flies are the Flats Kwabbit and Abams Big Ugly......"

Perfect All Around Shallow Water Fly,
March 31, 2012
By: FishinDave221
"This fly just plain catches fish. Of course bonefish will eat it, but I have also caught snappers and an assortment of other inshore species with this fly. If you just want to catch some fish, use this fly. After all isn't the whole point of fly fishing to catch a fish?"

money for bass,
June 28, 2011
By: gfmd33
"I know this is a bonefish fly, but it works very well on clear hill country streams in Texas for largemouth bass as a minnow immitation. I have caught bass up to 4lbs on it. It will also catch large perch, but is really good in clear water 4 feet to ankle deep for cruising bass."

"the borski has been my go to bass and smallmouth fly. A slow deliberate retrieve acts like a texas rigged worm along the bottom in lakes and rivers alike."

"Borski's Bonefish Slider is a great Redfish fly. It is eaten greedily on the flats, around oyster bars and in shallow creeks. Try bead chain eyes for a slower sink rate and fewer oyster bar hangups."

"This may be a good bonefish fly but it is a killer on big largemouth bass in fresh water as well. Fish it as deep as 15 feet. Worked very well in reclaimed "strip pits." "
